November 20, 201114 yr Kids under 10 years old watch College Game day to see Lee and his mascot picks. Bet many of those same kids gleefully exchange F-bombs back and forth between them, just like they hear from their parents at home.
November 20, 201114 yr Bet many of those same kids gleefully exchange F-bombs back and forth between them, just like they hear from their parents at home. Exactly. All kids cuss. They think its cool (which it was). I am pretty sure people of all ages were more uncomfortable and offended listening to detailed descriptions of a 10 year old boy being raped in a shower by an old man than Lee Corso throwing a prop and saying the F word.
November 20, 201114 yr I've never heard one. Do you think it would be ridiculous of ESPN to consider punishment for Corso? So the sign that the chick from UK had up last year that said "UK girls love Dick" when the basketball version of Gameday came to Rupp last year was okay? My 11 year old son at the time figured that one out.:lol: Obviously Corso thought there was a delay and there wasn't. Stuff happens, right.

I am pretty sure people of all ages were more uncomfortable and offended listening to detailed descriptions of a 10 year old boy being raped in a shower by an old man than Lee Corso throwing a prop and saying the F word. I was. I'd take cussing over hearing that 8 days a week.
November 20, 201114 yr Kids under 10 years old watch College Game day to see Lee and his mascot picks. And I would say 99.9% of those 10 year olds have heard or said the F word.
November 20, 201114 yr Kids under 10 years old watch College Game day to see Lee and his mascot picks. No argument. However, it's no different than the mic coming on during a game and hearing it from the players or coaches. I heard it twice today and didn't watch a ton of football. Not saying either is right but it isn't a big deal, IMO.
November 20, 201114 yr From post #6 by Alabama Larry- He needs to be fired, TODAY! From post #29, also by Alabama Larry-He should not be fired. So, which one is it? I personally see firing him as being way overboard.
November 20, 201114 yr It all comes down to moral character on this one... and I'm not questioning anyone's on here. Mine's not the best, but I know that one person who's posting on this doesn't use that language. In fact, if I've heard them drop the f-bomb I don't remember it.
November 20, 201114 yr No big deal. I thought it was hilarious. I cuss like a sailor. Glad to see Lee Corso is human. If ESPN fires him or even takes him off camera I may have to seriously think about getting my sports info elsewhere. That'd be ridiculous. If they fire him they better keep the cameras off of coaches and quit lip reading what they said to all of us also. The "F" word is allowed to be said one time in a PG-13 movie. Sign of the times...... :thumb: I'd be extremely upset if Corso was let go. He's good for the game. We all know it was just a slip of the tongue, if you can't get past that then you are not human.
November 20, 201114 yr I understand both sides of the issue here. I didn't see it live, but I likely would have been shocked, disbelieving, then laughed. If I'm honest with myself, it would be hypocritical of me to be outraged. I think back to the days when my kids were actually kids, and the exposure to cursing that I allowed them to be subjected them to, including movies, music and just general public. I mean, I'm not going to lie. I've dropped it a "few" times myself. Not proud of it, but I have.
November 20, 201114 yr " You judge people much? Whats his job? Talking on TV/ How many times has he put on the mascot head? He is a Pro, Give me a break. It was SMU/Houston. Its funny after my harse comments about Lee, YOU were the only one to make a comment about me. And it hasn't been the first time. Is that the pot calling the kettle...... Quit acting like that Larry. IMO it is a little overboard to act like this is the worst thing to hit ESPN. That is all I said. I don't have some kind of conspiracy against you.
November 20, 201114 yr Corso said something during Gameday last year to the effect of, "Forget Arkansas...they've shot their wad!" I thought Kirk was going to choke he laughed so hard. There was a thread on here about it. One BGPer explained that it wasn't that big a deal and people were taking it the wrong way, that it was a phrase used during the Revolutionary War when a musket wasn't loaded properly and fired the wadding but not the lead. Most viewers saw it in a different meaning though. It was very funny regardless.
November 20, 201114 yr Let's not forget that the Vice President of the United States of America dropped the f bomb on purpose when talking to President Obama about the passage of the Health Care bill. I think that in itself just show how accepted it is these days.

I think that in itself just show how accepted it is these days. Nor former VP Cheney using it in the Senate once. I find it a sad commentary on all accounts, that we are moving it into the category of "acceptable." I don't mind people making mistakes and apologizing for them. But to say that it is okay, well...I was raised better than that, I guess.

Any guy who can shoot someone else, and have that guy apologize to him, gets a pass on things like dropping the F-bomb
