People need to still realize they went to Big Blue Madness last year, so it's not like they haven't experienced UK's... Just seems to be blown out of proportion. Yeah, Maryland has made up ground, but I don't think they'd even want to visit the same place two years in a row, when they do have the option of experiencing another school's. I'm curious though if Dez Wells transferring to Maryland affects their chances at all in anyway? Could be at least a better situation for if they do land at Maryland... Only negative though, Maryland does probably get one of the last official shots before their announcement. It'll be really interesting.

Who is scheduled to attend UK's Big Blue Madness this year?

Haven't the Harrison twins been on UK's campus like 5-6 times, including last year's Madness?

Not too worried about it.

Haven't heard much about this, but just saw on Twitter that 2014 guard JaQuan Lyle will be attending.

Evan Daniels basically said the same thing in an interview with Ben Roberts. Basically repeats what GT says about it really only being between UK & Maryland. Said he wouldn't make a guess, but that if he were the UK coach he'd really like his position.

Cal will be in Huntington this weekend. Just saying.

It wouldn't be my last trip if I was him.

Agree

Top-ranked Plano (Tex.) Prestonwood power forward, Julius Randle, sets in-home, official visit with Kentucky.

Randle will host John Calipari and Co. Sunday and take an official visit to UK for the alumni charity game at Rupp Arena Sept. 15.

Haven't heard much about this, but just saw on Twitter that 2014 guard JaQuan Lyle will be attending.

Looks like Lyle will be joined by Marcus Lee according to Cats Pause:

Contact period kicks off with Calipari on the road

The first day of the contact period didn’t go according to plan for John Calipari.

The UK coach’s Sunday was supposed to start in Huntington, W.Va., for a visit with Andrew Wiggins, who is regarded by most to be the No. 1 player in high school basketball.

That itinerary changed when Wiggins decided to head home to Canada for the weekend. Huntington Prep coach Rob Fulford told the Herald-Leader on Sunday afternoon that Calipari would come to town sometime later this week, though he didn’t know when. ZagsBlog reported that Florida State, which is thought to be UK’s main competition for Wiggins, will be in Huntington on Monday to see the 2014 recruit. North Carolina was also supposed to watch Wiggins on Sunday, but there was no word on a rescheduled visit from the Heels.

Instead of seeing Wiggins, Calipari and company headed to Houston for an in-home visit with Andrew and Aaron Harrison, Scout.com’s Evan Daniels reported. Baylor also met with the Harrisons on Sunday, and Maryland, SMU and Villanova will all get their turn with the family by Wednesday. The twins have narrowed their list to those five schools, and are expected to make a decision Oct. 29.

One thing that did go according to plan was Calipari’s in-home visit with elite 2013 recruit Julius Randle. Carolyn Kyles, Randle’s mother, told the Herald-Leader that the family met with UK at 8 p.m. ET after meeting with N.C. State earlier in the day. Randle also has in-home visits scheduled with North Carolina (Sept. 10), Duke (Sept. 11), Kansas (Sept. 12), Oklahoma (Sept. 17), Oklahoma State (Sept. 18), Texas (Sept. 19), Florida (Sept. 20) and Baylor (Sept. 22).

Randle is planning to be in Lexington on Friday so he can attend UK’s Alumni Game in Rupp Arena on Saturday.

In a post on his blog Sunday, Calipari lamented slow ticket sales for the event and seemingly referenced Randle (without mentioning his name, of course).

“Keep in mind that we may have some other special people visiting that weekend who will want to see what the Big Blue Nation is capable of,” Cal’s post said. “We want to continue to show them that you can only do things like this at this level at Kentucky.”

Monday will bring another day of travel for the UK coach. It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Calipari cash in that rain check and head to Huntington for a visit with Wiggins.

But that won’t be his only stop.

Calipari tweeted that Monday “will be one of the craziest recruiting days I’ve ever had.” He followed that up by saying that the number of states he will travel to is the same number of first-round draft picks UK had in 2010.

That number is five. And that’s a lot of frequent flyer miles.

So where else might Cal be? Maybe a trip to California to see Aaron Gordon or Marcus Lee? Perhaps he’ll hit Michigan to meet up with James Young? Head over to Illinois, where Jabari Parker, Jahlil Okafor and Cliff Alexander live? Or maybe a stopover in Indiana to catch up with 2014 stars Trey Lyles and JaQuan Lyle?

We’ll just have to wait and see.

Scout.com says Jabari Parker has 8 in-homes scheduled but UK isn't on the list.

^ I thought I read somewhere that he had narrowed his list to a certain number & UK wasn't on it.

Yeah people are dreaming if they think Parker ends up at UK. Even if Cal puts the full court press on him I just don't see him coming to Kentucky.

On the brightside they may end up even better off if Wiggins reclassifies and commits to Kentucky. Both are outstanding wings with bright futures, but you give me the option and I'm taking Wiggins all day long. Would love to see Kentucky land a homerun commitment from Wiggins (if he reclassifies). Will be similar to what happened last season, strike out on all the elite bigs (Austin, Tarcewski (sp?), Coleman, Adams, etc. but end up with the best big in the entire class with Noel's reclassification. Can see the same thing happening this year, miss out on the premiere wing in the class but then do even better with a reclassified Wiggins.

Cat Barber is a 5-star guard who had shown interest in UK but the interest was not mutual. No offer was made. Thinking is that the Harrison boys were a bigger priority than Barber. Barber committed to NC State today.

Cal better land those twins.
