Beechwood/Newport Central Catholic Updates
I said their secondary is bad. That doesn't exclusively include DB's (can include a multitude of things). This could include responsibility across the board (also constructive criticism is a thing, you can't just sugarcoat everything to improve). I seriously do not see how I'm in the wrong in stating that, but alright. Many people have over the course of the season, not just myself, even on here. But I'll drop it here.

Beechwood/Newport Central Catholic Updates
Again, like I said previously. I stated a fact, not ripping them or any particular individual. Anyone who would watch this team would say the same.

Beechwood/Newport Central Catholic Updates
Just an observation of the unit as a whole. Not knocking kids by any means. Just been a constant issue all year, continues to plague them.

Beechwood/Newport Central Catholic Updates
NCC's secondary is awful. Can't ever remember it this bad.

Dixie Heights 38 Cooper 8
He's obviously watched multiple games, as he said. I tend to agree with him on his analysis as well. And I believe he is a Colerain fan if I'm correct.

Beechwood @ Newport Central Catholic predictions
Are you talking when Brady Hightchew got hurt in the BW game? It wasn't anything that serious. He was just out the second half with cramps I believe. He played the HC game, which NCC lost as well.

Will Highlands remain #1 in the new poll?
That was a simple statement to understand. Brentwood defeated McCallie by 23. Bowling Green defeated McCallie 40-36.

Will Highlands remain #1 in the new poll?
So you hand pick seasons Moeller went 5-5 and 6-5 for your example(s). Ok. How about St X. defeating Prattvile (AL) in the 2008 season. Prattville's only loss, and they were ranked ninth nationally. St. X defeated prestigious Don Bosco Prep (NJ) that year as well. In 2013 St. X defeated Brentwood Academy (TN) 23-0. That same Brentwood team defeated a McCallie team that BG struggled with by 23. So let's think about that first.

Beechwood @ Newport Central Catholic predictions
Wow. 11-1 thus far in the poll. I think this game's really going to open some eyes.

Beechwood @ Newport Central Catholic predictions
I'd have to argue one of the best rivalry games in KY, period. These game's are always close, full of emotion, and fun to watch. If someone hasn't seen this rivalry before, I highly advise them to check it out.

Will Highlands remain #1 in the new poll?
If as in south you mean Alabama, Florida, and primarily South Carolina (southeast, let's exclude Texas) then sure. Louisiana's solid as well, but Ohio's better than probably Alabama and South Carolina in my opinion (backed up statistically pretty well.) Most years, I'd put Texas, Florida, and Ohio in the same league. Crazy atmosphere, stud athletes, not much more you can ask for.

Kentucky Class 2A Football Rankings for 10-20
I don't think anyone can make a case for #1 outside of CAL. They earned it after their victory over Desales. It may go like last year however, as CAL also beat Desales in the regular season, but lost in the playoffs. Want to show you deserve #1 Caldwell? Defeat Desales or CAL. Simple as that. The CAL/Male game shouldn't have to tell us much anyway either. Male, arguably #1 in 6A vs. a 2A school? No way you can dethrone CAL for a match up like that. I'd like to see CAL keep it close with Male as they did last year though.

What Is Your Team's Record If It Played SK's Schedule?
This whole thread is absurd. It's hypothetical and ridiculous. BW would not be 8-0 with SK's schedule. CovCath would not be 8-0 with SK's schedule. As Stephen A. Smith would say, "That's blasphemous." Check your hatred and ego at the door and be realistic. SK's undefeated, it's just the way it is. Ridiculous hypothetical situations aren't going to change that. This is just stirring the pot at its absolute finest.

Newport Central Catholic 22 Newport 17
Also, NCC's middle school team's numbers are just extremely low now anyway. An even bigger deal now than before.

Newport Central Catholic 22 Newport 17
Really? Bringing up middle school people?? This thread's really taking a turn for the worse. Just to address the whole middle school issue, I can recall a couple times in the past decade where Newport's middle school team beat NCC. I even recall back in 2006 or 2007 that Newport was seeded #1 in the middle school playoffs and defeated numerous other teams including Campbell County. Guess what, it's middle school. It means nothing as to their future high school success. That year Newport was #1 seed in the playoffs, they lost to NCC in the playoffs. The 8th graders on that NCC team led NCC to a state title in their senior year (2010), and beat Newport 54-13. This is a prime example of middle school meaning nothing. Kids transfer, kids pick other sports, other kids come in. For example, that junior high team lacked Chris Kelly, Jake Cain, etc. All Red Devils. So let's keep middle school out of it, and get back to a logical conversation. The better team won, and this is the same as Highlands-CCH. Highlands is the better team until CovCath proves otherwise, as is NCC to Newport. Unfortunately for Newport, their losing streak in this series is much longer than CovCath's to Highlands.

If Beechwood and Mayfield played this week who would win?
Man, there's a lot of generalizing on here lately. Sure, Mayfield continuously beats BW, and I think it's more mental than anything for BW now, but not all NKY fans think BW would win every time... For example, I don't see how you can pick against Mayfield until BW shows they're capable of beating them. And let's not say every year. I do recall in 2005, NCC's 2nd-to-last year in 1A when they defeated Mayfield 42-7 in the state title game. It'll definitely be fun to see Mayfield and NCC play in the coming future in the playoffs.

NKY Coaches Poll
That seems like a bit of a generalization. I'm pretty SK's actual players and coaches desire to be state champions rather than #1 in a poll. Fans are a different story.

Simon Kenton/Newport Central Catholic Updates
30-7 SK nearing the end of the half.

Finally throws it, look what happens. TD NCC.

Simon Kenton/Newport Central Catholic Updates
NCC's young QB is struggling. Really looks like he's afraid to throw the ball into this SK secondary.

Everyone at Covington Catholic smiled when they saw........
I won't disagree with you, but you can't deny there have been games where some things that have been said between two schools; whether on here, twitter, facebook, whatever it may be, has given a team extra motivation. I can tell you first hand, these athletes do look at those types of things, and can get riled up based off of what some people say. I'd like to believe HHS and CovCath supporters realize this, and wouldn't want to add any more pressure on either side.

Newport Stadium
NCC really takes pride of the "view" of Cincy from the hill. With that, they also make a decent amount of $ from it, via the WEBN fireworks, and things of that nature, due to the view. Don't see that ever happening.

Newport Central Catholic Thoroughbreds 2014 Football Preview
In my opinion, I'd say between 2005-2013 there was just a serious bump in talent at NCC. The one down year in that span being 2009. There's seemingly about to be a drop off from that nearly decade-long trend though.

Highlands to host 8A Christopher Columbus Miami (FL)
Well, I took a peek on maxpreps to get some perspective. Seems like they had an off year last year. In 2012-2013 they played within 2 TD's of two top 25 teams in the country (St. Thomas Aquinas and Central (Miami, FL)) I'd say it should be a much better game than last year's.

Hargrave Military Academy 99 Rise Academy 84
It was a pretty good game to attend. Rise just couldn't compete with only having 6 players. That's a lot to expect from a team to stick with one that has 13+ players, and with (Hargrave's) size. That being said, Rise stayed in the game due to their ability to break Hargrave's press. At times I was definitely thinking Hargrave should stop pressing, but they continued to. Sometimes it rewarded them, sometimes it burned them. Overall it was a great game (Sorry for the last response.)
