Yeah, some people don't have an issue with it. That's why I put a decent amount of the Somerset faithful. Glad to see you're in the category that's more reasonable. I do think it ultimately sums up to Somerset wants to win against NCC, and such frustration is why A LOT of this private/public school comes up. Overall, I agree; it should be a good game on Friday.

I think this is being a little overblown. It's pretty much been known for a while how a decent amount of the Somerset faithful feel about NCC and private schools. It's just a shame when this stuff pops up every time Somerset faces NCC. NCC has a tradition that attracts players from Dayton, Bellevue, Newport, Ft. Thomas, Cold Springs, Southgate, etc. Why? Because all of these cities have feeder schools (in the case of Dayton, Bellevue, and Newport it combined to be Holy Trinity) to NCC. All being catholic schools. You will be hard pressed to find NCC students NOT from those areas. It'll be very few, and most will not play football. It's just the way it is, which makes such a persistent issue by the Somerset faithful who believe such completely unbased. For example, a parent attends NCC, maybe marries another parent from the area, may have attended NCC or not; and that kid is probably headed to NCC. It's a tradition, just look at the last names of these kids.

You're saying NCC didn't improve in the three games in between their two matchups (one of the three for NCC being a loss), and Holy Cross did. Maybe you can claim Holy Cross got better as the season went on, but I do not buy they had better athletes and were the better team. They won because of Kyle Fuller, plain and simple. So lets go by your logic though, so because UK lost to West Virginia in 2009-2010, automatically West Virginia is the better team although UK played their worst game of the year? Come on. Upsets do happen, that's what makes all various sports special.

If you believe they did not play flat, and they should've been beaten worse, you did not attend or watch the game. Plain and simple. By far the worst game they played all year that year. Also, I see no "crying" in my post about a game 2 years ago, just re-encouragement for the CC faithful, which you obviously took offense to for some reason.

Just one of those years. Like LB said, I have no doubt NCC was the best 2A team in 2011, but they played flat and lost to holy cross. It just happens unfortunately. With Sindelar returning though, I expect CC faithful will be expecting a similar result to what happened to NCC the following year (2012) after being upset the year before.

Gallatin just can't do anything on NCC's defense right now. Not getting anything going, their QB just about lobbed the ball up to about 2 NCC DB's.

Fortunately, NCC has their practice field. The mud's one thing, but playing on grass is not that much of a difference at least in my experience. Also, NCC's practice field can get pretty messy so they should be prepared.

I can tell you the group led by Rob Kues was pretty disappointed with losing in the state title two years in a row. NCC is now in that similar "state championship or bust" type of expectations for exactly the reason you said; their crazy success since 2000, especially from 2005 on.

NCC by 35+. Not a chance GC sticks with NCC unless NCC has 10 TO's. Just look at their common opponents.

Seems like it's working. Can't argue with 2 state titles since 2009.

Oops, is there a way to delete my votes on this poll? Really wasn't paying attention and voted the ones I thought would stay undefeated instead, sorry. So yeah, SK, Caldwell, Scott Co, BG, and Wayne should stay undefeated in my mind. :ohbrother:

In LB's defense; all it takes for some teams is momentum, such momentum can carry them even through teams such as CC. Momentum = confidence; confidence = Wins.

NCC and BW stand a chance, although they're underdogs. NCC just needs a really good game in the title game and they have a legitimate chance. The toughest teams in 2A are on the West, and NCC's going to benefit from that. BW is always a contender, but I'd still expect Mayfield to take it. Highlands will more than likely win pending a crazy upset. No 5A NKY team has a chance, simply put. And SK has a small chance.

You would probably agree LB, but I think NCC would be best off if Caldwell County loses to either Desales or CAL. I get the feeling Sindelar would have a career day against a very weak NCC secondary.
