It's a compliment and is impressive. In the computer they're just way above 1A in this statistical category. Like I said, it definitely has to do with Mayfield's games to start the season.

I'm curious what the formula for this ranking is. Obviously has a lot to do with how strong the computer feels the team's opponents are. BG with a 94, NCC with a 70 although struggling thus far, Caldwell County's low rating (probably again, due to the system's view of their SOS), also Mayfield's seemingly ridiculous rating for a 1A school (again, definitely has to do with the quality teams they have faced thus far). I still can't wrap my mind around though that SK is legitimately top 10 in state this year from the seems of it. Not knocking it at all, they seem to be pretty good and I'm curious how they finish out this year.

Agreed. NCC will be fine, but it's not like they're going to be on the same level as they were in 2005-2012 in the coming future. I just think there's going to be a significant drop off in the number of legitimate athletes they have there. This year's team is OK. They have a lot of concerns, but two glaring features that makes them different from those NCC teams between '05-'12? They have almost no Offensive Line, and there are major questions about the defense. That's where you guys should be looking for concern. They don't have any Jake Giesler's, Jack Gruenschlaeger's, Zack Kiernan's, Jake Smith's, Chris Kelly's, people of that talent level that they've on D and on the Line for those years.. In the forseeable future (right now at NCC 9-12), I see no players capable of such, so yeah it is kind of concerning.

That's still an ongoing problem at Beechwood everytime I've been there for a NCC-BW game.

If this happens, it'll probably be sometime after Mueller retires. I would say the top 2 would be CovCath and NCC. CovCath doesn't like how Highlands has their number for the past 6-7 years, and on NCC's side, they'd have so much to gain, and nothing really to lose in a match up of this sort. This is hypothetical after all though. But between NCC and CovCath, I can tell you there is definitely a desire in their respective programs to put a whopping on HHS. If/When that ever happens, is yet to be determined. A dynasty has to end sometime though, it's just inevitable. So I'd say CovCath is the most likely to be capable of such in the foreseeable future, and I think they're slowly creeping back up to HHS (Sorry, I know CovCath has HHS scheduled right now, but you never know by the time this comes.)

He may have intended it, but it is indeed intriguing with their feeder schools.. Also, I think you're missing the whole point of in your post you state, "SK is not even a top program in NKY." If I'm not mistaken, I'm pretty sure this thread is discussing about SK for the future??

If you're talking about college basketball? Sure, of course, they all do, pretty obvious. High school football? Not sure, but there's some illegal stuff that does happen that you're just taking for granted and just keeping yourself from seeing, hence the "Grey Area" as this topic would call it (Also, if it happens in YOUTH football, I'd say it probably is somewhat common in high school). You can say a good team doesn't have to, but the Patriots did it as well, and MANY other "good" or "great" teams have cheated as well in the past. Should I even list off all the college basketball coaches or college football coaches that have in fact been caught? Seriously dude, don't act like it doesn't happen. Like I said it's naive. Also same for you LB. Good-Great teams don't need to, but they're still as likely as anyone to. Also, you're seriously not understanding how the whole jammer thing works. You speak of the accusation of it being suspicious? Come on. You don't know what happens and what doesn't happen, so don't act like there's not a chance in hell it could have. It happens. Teams try to gain an advantage over other teams in sports, it's just the way it is. It's the same thing as teams in college recruiting committing minor/major violations and never getting caught on it. It happens at just about anywhere. You're naive to think Highlands hasn't tried this before in the past, because I think based on this thread alone it's pretty obvious that it's common.

True that. I was honestly surprised how NCC never adjusted to it either. Cooper attacked their secondary all night, time after time. Not to mention as you probably saw, the NewCath linemen (D and O-Line) were just over matched.

Well we also learned a team that can throw the ball will probably beat NCC. (Caldwell County)

I don't think this should even be a topic. Like someone said before, I think this game would be decent up until halftime, then it might get a little ugly. To be realistic, the one year in the past few that NCC could have competed, and possibly even beat Highlands would have been 2010. Then again, that Highlands team was certainly not the best.

Bigger, but I don't know about faster. Their RB was a bulldozer, but he really lacked speed. Their D-Line up until the 1 minute mark of the 1st half absolutely dominated Highlands' entire O-Line, and were never the same the rest of the game, aka they were REALLY out of shape. A really big team, but without a scrimmage or any game yet this season, Highlands was bound to wear them down.

I think this is what KentuckyJoe meant... Throwing verticals and what not while up by 30. I can't blame him though, he's trying to showcase his program on National TV. Take advantage of the opportunity and even showcase some of your players to get them exposure as well...

Even in the first half with the no huddle their DB's seemed really fatigued. On that drive HHS did whatever they wanted on them. Just have to wear them down, and keep throwing the ball.

I wouldn't even start to bring middle school into the argument at all... I remember back in 2007 I believe in junior high football, Newport was the #1 seed in the playoffs, and beat Campbell County that year (I believe Campbell County won it all), then goes on to get "upset" by Newcath. IMO, junior high is NOT a good measurement on how a team will be a few years down the road. It may offer a little bit of insight, but a lot of kids won't actually reach somewhat of their potential until Junior/Senior year. Problem with judging by it is the fact some kids on that team still may go to a different high school, then there are the kids that may not play in high school, and the fact other kids can still come in from various schools. To be honest, I wouldn't even buy into it with freshman football, Beechwood could beat Highlands in freshman football, then lose to Highlands by about 40 in a varsity game with the same players.

Never doubt Trinity. They definitely showed that tonight. They're on a different level as of these past few years.

This is correct, it'll only ever be called out if the player is good or has potential... I'd say just about every school has been accused of recruiting at one point or another, some maybe more than others based on their success. It's just the way it is. Fact of the matter is it's not an issue, and the kid will ultimately go to a high school because of their friends, sports, academics and their parents (obviously.)
