Thoughts?

Jake Smith will not play as he suffered a concussion in practice this week.

Where is this scrimmage and what time?

I was told tonight the game will be Friday at Thomas More.....will get back with the time, but I would expect a 7:00 kickoff.

That is not good for him. I hope that it isn't serious. As for the scrimmage, I'd like to see Franzen improve over the course of the game. Throwing against a rush is a completely different ball game, and they have a young O-Line.

Jake should be fine....talked to him Monday night and he is just being held out as a precaution. He is considerably bigger this year. Has put on 11 pounds and is 9 lbs away from the target weight of 170. The added weight and power should make him that much tougher for the opposition.

Debating whether to go to this game or the Beechwood/Conner game. Depends if the "boss" will let me out or not.

If the wife gets home in time I will be out tonight.

Mine grew up with 3 brothers. I'll let you be the judge of how that could turn out.

I read Newcath won the scrimmage 24-0. Not bad being without Jacob Smith.

36-0 was the final I got.

Hears Soph Kues looked really good.

24 -0 NewCath was the final. Jack Sudkamp with 2 rushing TD's and Mac Franzen another on a 50 yard keeper, and a John Caudill 26 yd FG. The Bulldogs might have had 1 1st down with the starters and then picked up a couple late when both 2nd string players were in. Franzen looked very solid at QB, Breds running back Sr. Mikey Runyon had some nice runs, the kid has some "wheels". The Breds did a nice job mixing things up with runs and passes. Was pleasantly surprised with the performance, looks like Coach Wagner has done a nice job getting the team prepared.

Even though the frosh team only has 15 players, the have some nice size. They moved the ball with relative easy against the Dawgs, even though neither team scored.

Jack Sutkamp is the offspring of former Bellevue great Running Back Jon Sutkamp.

Newcath dominated all around from varsity down to freshman. Franzen looked great and did the while defense. They held Holmes tight with only one Long run. Cant wait until next week to get the season started. Its going to be a true gridiron test for newcath the first half of the season.
