I would have been thrilled.

It would help them overall, IMO.

It made me think for a minute. But with Bautista being 30 and with his production the last couple of years being completely off his career norm, I can't help but think the crash on the backside is going to be as swift and ugly as the upside has been swift and stunning. Bautista just scares me too much to say yes.

Oh, I think if we eliminated the Dusty factor we may agree on a lot of things.

I want four players to remain Reds regardless: Votto, Bruce, Phillips, & Cueto.

Wouldn't have liked the deal.

That sounds like a deal that Toronto would make, especially with Adam Lind able to move over to the DH slot. If I was a Reds' fan, I would probably be glad the deal wasn't made.

I wouldn't have cared for this deal much either. Just feel like there is too much risk, I'm not sold on Bautista, I doubt he's even close to these same numbers in 2-3 years.

I would have been okay with it. I've been on the shop Votto club for a couple of months. He won't be here in 2 years, Yonder needs a home (1st base), I don't think the Reds are going anywhere in the next 2, therefore, I say see what you can get for him.

Votto will be gone next contract anyway. Bautista mashes in the big boy league, imagine what he'd do in the NL Central...at GABP. Quite frankly, I don't care if he's on more than Mr Ed. Come in and rake.

Why in the world would the Reds be giving the Jays Votto and a top prospect? Aren't we talking about the NL MVP? If anything you'd think the Reds would be getting a top prospect from the Jays since Joey is four years younger than Joey Bats.

Maybe his Visa is close to expiring...

I would have been furious. Even if it would help the Reds I like loyalty. I'm not over a minor improvement (don't know that Bautista would be over the long haul) at the sake of getting rid of someone who has played so well for your team.
