I don't think anyone is questioning Trinity's gridiron dominance over the past few decades, but the school is not that old (started in 1953). There are some successful programs in KY that were playing football for several decades before Trinity even came into existence. I think that is why some posters may not be ranking Trinity number one on this list.

Trinity, in my opinion, would still not rank above Highlands. Trinity is a super program but what a much smaller Highlands has done to me tops all easily

What makes MLB more impressive than AAA? What makes the NBA more impressive than CBA? What makes NFL more impressive than CFL?

 

They are better because they have resources other leagues don't. An NFL team probably wouldn't be that proud of beating a CFL team.(referring to enrollment)

If Mayfield and Danville played in classes where most of the teams had a fraction of their enrollment, I suspect they may have as many titles as Trinity.

 

Really, when we're talking about state titles, doesn't the quality of competition matter, too?

I don't always agree with UK#1fan, but I love his passion for his team, so I'll take your condescending remark with a grain of salt and consider the source. Beyond that, I have every right to proclain Trinity as the best program in Kentucky just as you have that same right for your team. There is no right and wrong, only opinions. You're entitled to your narrow view through those green shaded glasses. You can continue to show no respect for programs that have been around and winning longer than Trinity. Trinity is a Top 5 all-time great program. But people aren't going to ignore the advantages they have over other programs.

One program not offered for inclusion in a Top Ten is: Corbin.

 

I am far from a Corbin fan but they have been a power for many, many decades. Won a couple of mythical titles I believe and then have secured AA titles Three times I think plus some other appearances.

 

Another worth discussing would be Bardstown, would it not? I believe they have a few titles and a lot of years of history as well.

 

The top 2 are without a doubt Highlands and Trinity. The rest jockey up and down #'s 3 through 10 IMO.

My rational was a weighted score total based on championships, championship appearances, and championship win percentage. Completely unscientific, but a slow day at the office.

The teams with longevity of winning get slighted a little in your list, but that is a very good list. Interesting how good it is considering your criteria.
