I'm more of a less government, more freedom type of guy... You would think any idiot elected, Dem or GOP, could do a few simple things like balance a budget, secure a future for our children, and provide us with a strong military.. But here we are, supposedly the strongest country on earth, and our leaders can't keep us out of debt or even secure our own borders.... Just honor the Constitution and stay the heck out of everyone's life... Sounds simple doesn't it..

I chose conservative because that's what a test they had us take in school a few years ago pegged me as.

I'm registered Independent though I'm libertarian (little l) in my views. I do not consider myself a Libertarian (big L), nor am I member of the party anymore---though I will almost always vote for their candidates.

I consider myself a Moderate Independent. I'm registered Independent. I have both conservative and liberal views.

 

That's where I fall. I don't belong to any party any longer. My views depend on the issue otherwise. I'm probably most critical of social conservatives or hardcore ideologues.

Well, you ought to be given kudos for how you criticize. There are few, if any, more socially conservative than myself on BGP & I've never really labeled any of your opinions as being overly critical.

Well, I try (I'm not always successful) to be reasonable and cordial, especially with posters who are the same way.

It sounds simple until you win the election, take office and have your briefings and meetings on what is really going on, what the people's tax money is really used for and what you absolutely can never tell the public. Now try to go and deliver on your campaign promises.

Fiscal conservative and a social liberal. Basically you can do what ever you want, within reason, as long as it doesn't cost me any money.
