Why does Fox tv continue to say Usama?

If you were Osama Bin Laden, wouldn't you have made video of yourself proclaiming that you were not dead and have that sent to the masses if you actually were killed (like a video that your closest followers put out if you were actually killed?) If I was him I would totally do that to cause a lot of disturbance and make the US governement look foolish.

 

I fully expect that his followers will find some way to attempt this anyway. They've released videos before that some doubted was either him or current.

It is far better to do what we did in a slow process, than rush it and Osama escape. If he escapes he might not pop up again for another 7 or 8 years.

 

Agreed, and if we just bombed the place we might not ever get a real confirmation he was in there.

Has anyone heard how we got the intel? I heard enhanced interrogations proved useful but I didn't want to say that until it was for sure.

 

From what I read the initial intel was gathered from interrogations in 2007. From those interrogated they were given the name of person Osama used as a courier. They were able to establish his where abouts in 2009. However he and his brother were apparently pretty good at losing anyone following them so it wasn't until last August they were seen going to the compound.

The only way that I would believe that bin Laden is still alive would be a released video that discusses a current event or have him holding a copy of a current daily newspaper that we control.

Not a conspiracy theorist but think, without a doubt, something like that could happen. It was one of the reasons I thought it was so important to actually get bin Laden's body. They'll do anything to get people to retaliate against the US or US interests.

Good point. I just feel like if I was him I would have been prepared in my death to find a way to still disrupt the Western society (maybe I like SAW movies to much).

Wrong. Simply mentioning politics, does not make it political.

 

My opinion is that is nearly as much a victory for President Bush as it is for President Obama. I believe that President Obama paid homage to that by calling President Bush before the public address last night to tell him of the news.

 

That is why I would like it to be a non-partisan victory.

I completely agree with the bolded. For anyone to believe that Bush's number one goal wasn't to find Osama is misguided at best.

The Seals killed Bin Laden yesterday and john Brennan is destroying any positive image of Bin Laden now in the White house press conference. I paraphrase, 'While Bin Laden was sending followers on death missions, Bin Laden was hiding out in a million dollar compound living in luxury then using women to protect himself when he faced battle.'

Could you imagine getting the call to be on this mission, training for months for this one specific task, then get a weather delay the night it is supposed to go down? I bet those were some jacked up SEALS.

I don't think there is anything that can be said or shown to me to convince me that we didn't kill Bin Laden. He is gone and never coming back. I wouldn't even believe him hacking into live television to proclaim he is still alive would convince me he is alive as even that can be doctored. I really can't understand the skepticism. America would look like such idiots if he was still alive and based on the info that keeps coming out I have no reason to believe he isn't doing the underwater backstroke in the sea somewhere.

100% agree.

I would have personally preferred they do something along those lines. I don't like the gray areas it allows to do it the specific way they did (as has been discussed in this thread). I don't doubt the veracity of the statements, but I can easily see how some could find issues here.

 

We have to say we gave him a proper burial to show respect to Muslims out there ( not the extremist), but I bet his body will hit US soil… IMO
