March 24, 201115 yr Better define X's and O's because there are two sides to it. There is X and O game prep and putting a game plan together. Then there is X and O in the game and adjusting to the game. I see some guys much better at game prep than in game moves.

March 24, 201115 yr My top 5 would be - In no particular order Bo Ryan Brad Stevens Billy Donovan Mark Few Tom Izzo
March 24, 201115 yr Author Coach K is the best in my opinion. Why? I hear this A LOT, but the man has top5 talent year in and year out.
March 24, 201115 yr Who is Coach Kay? Never heard of her. HT721 - I totally disagree. CBDV - Totally agree. Great recruiters don't have to be great coaches. - JMO
March 24, 201115 yr ^ How many people got drafted off of last year's Championship team? Don't worry, I'll wait.....Now, they also started three seniors on said team. Doesn't sound to bad, IMO. While we may disagree who the best is, there is no reasonable person in America would would leave Coach Krzyzewski off of a Top 5 list. Some that come to my mind: Mike Krzyzewski Tom Izzo Mark Few Brad Stevens Thad Matta
March 24, 201115 yr My 10 would be in no order: Cal R. Williams B. Self Coach K Donovan Izzo Pitino Matta Few Stephens
March 24, 201115 yr Why? I hear this A LOT, but the man has top5 talent year in and year out. He recruits for his system, and his talent is much different than UK talent, his talent doesn't always transfer to the league, but his talent equals national chapmionships in college.

No hold on just a second. I think Coach K is the best coach in the country bar none. Just take a look at the accomplishments. But he hasn't hurt for NBA level talent. Battier, Williams, Williams, Hurley, Leattner, Brand, Singler, Smith, Dawkins, and the list goes on and on. To say his talent is much different than UK talent is laughable. UK has had that type of talent 1 time in 15 years.
