Yes, Def. wins championships, that is the only thing that you said that had any merit!! 1)This years Def. is better than last years look where the def. ranks in Ky. ( 4A) defending the Pass 2) Look at how many points, yards etc. against The ROCKS since the ST. X game " GREAT ADJUSTMENTS COACH!!" . as far as the best offense in 4A ?? that is very questionable and I suspect that you will have a different take after the Game, just like the Boone Co.faithful.

As far as the Boone Co. yardage, our 1st string was out late in the 3rd Qt.?

The score and the total yards could have been well over 400 yards and 3 more TDs.

Stats were taken straight from the KHSAA web-site...They have scored more points per game than anyone...They have gained more yards per game than anyone.

My point about T's yardage in the BC game was to illustrate how it only took 282 yards to score 45 points....HC is giving up 315 yards!

T has made adjustments...since the X game..and they look good.....they have also not played the same quality opponents after the X game like they did before ....Manual..Montgomery Bell.

But you can't honestly state that T's defense is as good as years past...T's Defense in my era would have never given the points they did against X and Manual.

I really think this game will be a good match. HC sounds like they have some real weapons on offense. They seem to have a difficult time defending the pass. Trinity has had its difficulty defending the run. One would think that this game would be a barn burner, but I think not. Sometimes these games turn out to be pretty tight. I think this may be the case Friday. If Trinity is at full strength, I think the Rocks win by ten. Maybe 27-17. I don't know why I think this will be a low scoring game, just a hunch.

This is a far more interesting game than X/Warren Central, IMO (I believe the West semistate is X's to lose). Let's face it, Trinity hasn't played anybody since St X. Fern Creek was solid, but didn't have all the pieces to play against top tier competition (St X beat them 44-13). Boone County was a very mediocre team (losing to 3-7 Conner and 6-5 Simon Kenton). Ballard, Eastern, and Seneca? Please!

These predictions that Trinity will blow out Henry Clay by 3 or more touchdowns and hold them to less than 14 are laughable. If there's one thing Henry Clay appears to have, it's offensive firepower (both rushing and passing). Trinity has shown that it has trouble stopping the run against teams with balanced offenses and speedy running backs (Manual, St X). Henry Clay has beaten some good teams this season (2A Region 4 Champ Belfry, 3A Regional Runner-Up Boyle Co, 3A Regional Runner-Up Bell Co, 4A Regional Runner-Up Christian Co). I think Trinity's big-game experience will serve them well, but I don't expect this to be a cakewalk for the Shamrocks.

I believe the better team is Henry Clay and the only advantage Trinity has is its history of winning and perhaps the home field advantage. In my opinion, if Trinity manages to win, then the most talented tean did not win. I just hope Henry Clay does not let Trinity's history intimidate them.

Who did ST. X have to go thru in the West??

Im just going to throw out a couple stats of importance:

Salin Simpson: 2527 yrds passing, 761 rushing, 29 passing tds, 7 rushing tds.

Rod Johnson: 1909 yrds rushing, 241 yrds receiving, 34 total td's

Chase Minnifield: 700+ rushing and passing, 16 tds, 6 ints.

Clark Jeter: 44 catches for 995 yrds

Aaron Boyd: 37 catches for 501 yrds

Sam Gardner: 31 catchers for 326 yrds

tackles= solo's + assists

Case Allin: 74 tacks

Ryan Breen: 73 tacks

Stephon Burton: 72 tacks, 3 ints

Marcus Bentley: 70 tacks,

Jermaine Birch: 57 tacks, 21.5 for loss of 79 yrds, 7.5 sacks

All stats form wlstats.com

Henry Clay has a lot of weapons, and I think can win against anyone. That being said, Trinity is Trinity, and a hard out at home.

It seems about 99 percent sure I and the Jim Schue posse will be attending, so I expect a reasonable welcoming party from the locals.

Who did ST. X have to go thru in the West??

#8 Manual

#11 John Hardin

#10 Warren Central

T hasnt played any one in the top 20 until this #9 Henry Clay game. ;)

Henry Clay wins this one. the Rocks have had an easy walk so far, HC will bring a level they have not seen since X.

Trinity has had the luxery of playing in a very weak region this year..Yes, they're playing better than earlier in season, but, no, they're not nearly as talented as some past Trinity teams....Henry Clay will match up physically on both sides of the ball and possibly possess a little more athleticism overall..They too, are playing well right now and seemed to have gotten over that 2-3 game lull they were in during mid to late season...I see Trinity keeping it close due to Homefield but HC will pull away late...42-21

I really think that this will be a tight game. Anyone predicting a three TD margin either way will be surprised. Trinity has been blown out in one game all year, and no offense to the HC faithful but they aren't in X's ballpark. I really think this game looks like a repeat of the Trinity/Dunbar game of a couple of years ago. Nip and tuck all game with one team stepping up in the fourth quarter. I predict that team to be the Rocks, but I can understand those that support their team as well. But I just don't see a blowout.

Ease up Rock Hard..everything doesn't have to be argument ALL the time on here :thumb:

On paper this year's defense might show better....talent wise..last year was better!
