  1. Ryle was 2-11 from the free throw line. That makes it difficult to win a ball game
  2. Is it the talent level at Trinity that makes them dominant year in and year out? Or is it the coaching staff that has the ability to take kids to the next level? In other words if Trinity's coaching staff switched places with a coaching staff from a 2A or 3A school, not at all saying the coaching staffs at this level aren't good, do you think that team will perform in a similar fashion as Trinity is now? The players may not be as big or as fast at the smaller level as they are at Trinity, but as far as the execution is concerned, do you think it will be similar? It just seems to me that the Trinity coaching staff is the best in Kentucky. They are able to make every aspect, from passing patterns to how tight the spiral is on a long snap, look easy. Every athlete at Trinity is very gifted, but without a good coaching staff no one will be to understand just how gifted they are. IMO
  3. This is one of those videos where the more times you watch it, the funnier it gets.
  4. Thats my point. Everyone is saying Trinity vs Ryle part II but if SK comes out and does what Ryle didn't do, then they will keep it close to the end. Ryle would have kept it much closer if they didn't do those things. Simon Kenton will give themselves a chance in the end if they do play mistake free football, rise to the occasion, and overcome the miscues.
  5. He would have been close to scoring. There was a T player there along with another Ryle receiver. It would have been close. But either way it would have been a great momentum booster...for the time being lol If the player catches the first pass it opens up the run game just a bit more than when he dropped the pass. not saying we would have gained 200 more yards, but it sure would have helped a little bit. i would say probably 100 of those came from petrino scrambling when all the recievers were covered. t never got a great run game established, but their passes were great. they were timing routs that ryle wasn't used to defending. the game would have been much closer than the score appears if several things go the other way. if murray doesn't fumble 2 times then t gets the ball inside their own 20 instead of midfield/ryle 40
  6. For anyone who really remembers the Ryle vs T game a couple of years ago, Ryle shot themselves in the foot in the first half more than anything. Dropping a pass that couldn't have been thrown better the first play that would have gone for 6, 2 uncharacteristic fumbles, shutting down the T receivers only to have Petrino scramble for 20 yards after not having an open receiver...and several others. Ryle also had a goal line stand from the 1 against the T offense. My point is as long as SK doesnt hurt themselves and become their own worst enemy they will stay in the game. They may not win but they will have the chance to in the end to pull it out
  7. This is awesome! Fantastic idea and a real class act. Does anyone know approximately how much money was raised? I would love to see this trend pickup throughout the state next season.
  8. It looked like it was on the very edge of the 18 yard box, toward the sideline.
  9. Let's just say if I didn't know any better I would have thought it was George Clooney out there playing soccer. But from my perspective it looked like a good hard shoulder to shoulder battle for the ball. The Highlands player fell over, whethet it was a flop or not, and got the call. IMO if the Highlands stayed on his feet, which he could have done, then there wouldn't be a call. But that's just part of the game.
  10. Thanks for the explanation! I think if Ryle plays the first half like they played the second half, with a sense of urgency to score, its a different game. In the first half Ryle only kept two guys up on offense and left it up to them to get the scoring done. In the secnod half they finally put 4 and 5 guys up on offense when the ball was in the Highlands zone. Of course they were down by 1 and 2 goals, but the ball stayed in the Highlands end for most of the second half. Good job by the Highlands defense/midfield to keep Ryle from scoring 2 in the second half. If only Ryle wanted to score in the first half instead of keep Highlands from scoring the game might be different. But congrats to Highlands and I hope you guys represent northern kentucky well!
  11. Okay I see. When the Highlands player had to stop to go back and get his shinguard I noticed the referee playing with his watch. I thought he stopped the clock because of that. But he apparently didn't
  12. can someone explain why the referee decided not to add atleast a minute of stoppage time at the end of the game?
  13. Ryle has a ton of young talent that matched up very well against a big Boone team. The better team won, but look out for Ryle within the next 2 years. They will be tough to beat.
