Carolina is going to hire Harbaugh and draft Luck. Everyone needs to quit talking about him. Newton is in an offense that has never produced a good NFL QB. It would be a mistake to count on him and put him with a bad O-line. Newton may be great, but the odds say he won't. They need a lot more help before any QB would be good here. Palmer is adequate enough. Do people forget they swept the divsion last year?

Every page of this thread is like the exact same thing.

When the Steelers stunk and our schedule was fairly easy. Really, that doesn't affect the way I feel about Palmer or this coaching staff.

You won't find anywhere where I said top 5 or anything like it. I still think he's as good or better than at least half of the starters in the NFL though. He's made bad decisions this year, but that doesn't surprise me. He's done that his whole career. I really hope they get rid of him. I know he's better than Tavaris Jackson. I hope he goes there. If not there I do hope he goes to Arizona. Very winnable division and Fitzgerald is good.

Don't remember saying you did.

As I said before its weird that Jaws, Cowher and other guys NFL now are saying the samethings. I mean do they have their Bengal glasses on now too, as you tell me? Why would they as you say be making excuses for him, unless there is some good reason for it too?

I admit today was all on him for the lost, no arguing from me on that. I admit too that his decision making this year at times has BEEN HORRIBLE!. However as I said its time for you all to admit, that maybe its just not excuses as you say. If you keep getting more and more NFL people saying some of the same things, guys who actually do break down the films and know whats going on.

Come on man. Okay, so the NFL guys didn't blame everything on Palmer. Now how about asking Cowher to trade for Palmer next season when he gets an NFL job? Would he do that?

Newton's offense has never produced a good NFL QB? Could that be because Malzahn has only had the likes of Casey Dick, Rusty Smith, and Chris Todd to work with?

If you're talking about the Spread Bradford looks pretty good right now. The Spread is relatively new at the highest levels of college football like the SEC, Pac 10, Big 10, etc. Let's give it a few more years before we decide those QBs can't play in the pros. Newton IMO, is lightyears ahead of Young, Pat White, or even Tebow in terms of being able to play in the NFL. Those guys all had knocks, VY couldn't pass, White was short and couldn't pass, Tebow had a weird throwing motion. The biggest problem Newton has going forward is a lack of experience, which is always a concern for an NFL QB.

Today's game doesn't change anything.

Palmer has struggled. The WR's don't run good routes. When they do, Carson has missed throws. Bengals have fallen behind early in a lot of games and have been forced to throw. Opposing D's have unleashed pass rushers on the QB, and the O-line hasn't always held up well. When you combine the above, it looks horrible. More times than not, the public will put that blame on the QB.

I'd be open to getting a new QB in Cincinnati, but that won't change anything.

The Steelers did not suck last year, they went 9 and 7. The main difference was that they couldn't beat the Bengals. If they beat the Bengals both games last year then they go 11 and 5. The Steelers were not bad, just actually for once the Bengals outplayed them twice.

Come on man. The Steelers were not the normal Steelers last year. The OL was was than this year and they had no running game, on top of their defense not being healthy at all. 9 and 7 for the Steelers is like Duke or UK only winning 20 basketball games.

Don't remember saying you did.

Are you serious? I mean you can continue to ignore the fact that NFL guys who actually break down the films of the games, are saying the same things as me. Or I guess should say saying the same excuses. However I mean if these things were not true, then why would they not say that. What reason would Cowher of had to even talk about it, he could have just sais man Palmer is really struggling this year. He had no reason to say what he did unless there was reason to say it. However Im sure as usual you will ignore that..

As for Bradford, come on man? Thats a bad example to use Bradford as a reason why a spread QB can do well in the NFL. Yes Bradford played in a spread offense, but it was a PASSING SPREAD OFFENSE. Most spread offenses in the NFL are more geared towards the run, and not passing. The offense Newton plays in is definitely a running spread offense. I am not saying he won't do good in the NFL because he has all the tools, and seems like he has a good head on his shoulders. However he does not play in a passing offense at all, so hard to tell how he would do under center, and having to pass more and not rely on his running ability.

Which would have been 11 and 5 if they could have just beat the Bengals, like they usually do. So its not like they did anything different than normally, because they would have had about the same record as usual if they could just have beat the Bengals. So no they were not a bad team, they just couldn't beat the Bengals. Which the Bengals had a ton of injuries last year too, so that excuse is horrible. This year though the Steelers beat the Bengals both times, and will be around their normal record again.

I am obviously not arguing with someone who nows how important timing and being in the right spot is when it comes to completing passes. Its funny as I said that NFL people and even your former coach talk about how hard it must be this season to throw to guys not in the right spots, however you don't see that. I guess he must be watching something else too, plus not like he gets to break down film or anything...So good day to you too sir.

Please, "my former coach" started Kordell Stewart under center with a superbowl caliber defense for years. He's no quarterback genius. And that may explain your affinity for him.

There is absolutely ZERO reason to keep Palmer around at his salary next year. Zero. None. If he was one of the lower paid QB's in the league, then I could possibly see keeping him given the fact that the 'Gals have needs at so many other spots. But he commands one of the top 5 or 6 salaries in the league and produces in the range of one of the bottom tier QB's in the league. If the 'Gals have a freakin' clue, he'll be gone.

Unfortunately, I'm guessing he'll be back and every bit as horrific next year.

My bad, I forgot once again that all of us on here know more than NFL coaches. I forgot that we are able to see and know how things are after just seeing things live or maybe one replay. I forgot all of us on here know exactly the reads and ways plays are suppose to be done. Forgive me please for you being that QB genius apparently, and always breaking down films and seeing these things so you know how things are. These networks need to get rid of these ex NFL players and coaches, and hire some guys from on here. Who apparently can break down how things are suppose to be ran from seeing it live, and not having to break the film down.

Yes I understand your opinion, and it is just that an opinion. You and many others on here share that OPINION, however I am just stating that there are people who share the same opinion as me. Guys who actually do watch these game tapes much more than us, and can come up with better opinions than any of us have.
