November 10, 201015 yr It's subjective. I could find 20 QBs I'd much rather have QB-ing my team. Maybe you can't, but a case could be made. The excuses made for Palmer could be made for a bunch of QBs, but no one else is mentioned. Bad OL for Cincy? What about the OL protecting Jay Cutler, maybe the worst OL since the Texans were an expansion team? How about his WRs? Unsteady WR corp for Cincy? Who does Sam Bradford throw to? Under performing defense? What about the defenses for Matt Stafford or Matt Schaub. Outside of Wes Welker who does Tom Brady have on his team? Indianapolis has a bottom 1/3 defense in the NFL (at least statistically) and no run game but Manning makes up for it. Sure those guys are light years ahead of CP but its not like Palmer is the only QB in the league that has parts of his team not performing. Every team in the league is like that. It's just time to call it like it is. Alot of guys on here make excuses for Palmer but his situation in regards to surrounding talent is much better than many QBs in the league. You always talk about us guys on here, like were the only ones who say these things about Palmer. However most of the national media even says its the other reasons like the offensive line for why Palmer does not look as good anymore. Heck Steve Young even said Palmer doesn't have much of a chance behind this line. You going to say he must be looking through his Bengal Shaded glasses if he thinks that? haha. You talk about people around here making excuses for him, when people around the nation say the same things. You should ask the coaches in the AFC North if they think Palmer is in the bottom 10 of QB's in the league. They wouldn't agree with you at all about that. See now that is calling it like it is. Its not excuses, it just is how it is.
November 10, 201015 yr I won't deny that. He does play behind a horrible OL and for an OC that has him throw the ball as much as possible. I was pointing out the fact that QBs in this league have worse OL's and OCs who do not play to a team's strengths (or in Martz's case he exposes their weaknesses). Some on here act like Cincy has the worst OL in the league, the worst OC, the most under-performing defense, and the worst WR corp. Two of those things were strengths according to Bengals nation coming into the season on here. I just want the excuses to stop. If you or whoever think Palmer is a great QB fine. But, the excuses are tired and really invalid, seeing as some QBs in the league have it much worse. Its just a never ending cycle, maybe Cincy will get rid of Lewis, Bartkowski or whatever his name is, Chad, and draft and sign some good defensive players. Maybe grad a proven WR too. Hopefully not though, I'd hate to go through another year of excuses for Palmer. Its never his fault on here for some people. I'm done, I'm out of this. I'm tired of running in circles, I don't care what you guys think about CP (think he's the best QB going if you want) but don't get mad when someone feels that Carson is average, below average, or just flat out sucks. And don't say it's bias for me. I hate Carson Palmer because I've always felt he was overrated. I don't think he's overrated because I hate his game, that's two totally different things if you think about what I'm saying.. To me the love fest for him was sickening, and to me he's always been a serviceable guy, a guy that looks good with talent and less than average when he doesn't have it around him. My hate for his game is a byproduct of how he plays and is viewed. I don't view him badly because I hate him as a player. I always thought he was average and my dislike for him stemmed from the love affair Bengals nation had with him for so long. If I hated his game and though he was overrated because I didn't like him, the claim of bias would be more valid. Not liking him from the get-go and never giving him a chance is different that watching him play and forming an opinion. It's probably still bias, but it's totally different to me. I don't know if you've made a "bias" claim for me, but it's not like bias is what caused me to form an opinion on his game. Its funny hearing you say your not bias and trying to back it up. When you like to say if you like him, its because your a Bengals fan. Especially when I have thrown out plenty of facts for why he is not as bad as you say he is. Yet you always choose to ignore those facts. Then two weeks ago you liked talked about Ryan for the Falcons and how he has ice water in his veins, and don't think Palmer is like that. Yet once again ignore the facts about how Palmer has 17 game winning 4th quarter drives in his career, and 3 of them against the Steelers who is usually a top 5 or 10 defense every year. He also has about 4 against the Ravens and like an 8 and 2 career record against them. A team who is always a top defense. I find it hard to believe that a guy who is a below average QB can do things like this against those teams. I am sure you will ignore these facts again as you do. I also sure we will hear you for the tenth time say your done with argument, only to come back again.

November 10, 201015 yr I honestly don't know how you 2 can still be fighting over this. Because FC gets so tore up about it, which makes it really fun .
December 9, 201015 yr I don't know if this is news or what because I'm not a big NFL guy and don't keep up with anything outside of watching games, but for what it's worth Carson Palmer wants his house sold ASAP. I don't know if that means he is leaving or if he is just going somewhere else in the city.
December 10, 201015 yr NFL rumors say Palmer, Ocho, Benson and TO are all possibly gone after this season as well as Marvin Lewis.
December 10, 201015 yr NFL rumors say Palmer, Ocho, Benson and TO are all possibly gone after this season as well as Marvin Lewis. I hope all of that is true. Good luck to whichever QB the Bengals draft in the top 5 if they don't improve their line. Am I the only person that is terribly troubled that Palmer isn't allowed calling TO's? Marvin Lewis said he thinks it's like that everywhere else too. I'd have to guess that is way off

Am I the only person that is terribly troubled that Palmer isn't allowed calling TO's? Marvin Lewis said he thinks it's like that everywhere else too. I'd have to guess that is way off Marvin has been in WAYY over his head from day 1. He's about as inept as they come as far as head coaching goes. I think they need to just blow it up and start over....This team is no where close to competing in the next 2-3 years anyways, might as well get some younger guys in there.

I think their schedule next year (they play the NFC West and 4th place AFC teams) if they get some new coaches in here could easily let them compete for the division or wild card. They were in every game this year but one or two and questionable coaching decisions and player decisions have cost them dearly. Also having the second most guys go on IR hasn't helped. The Bengals need a lot of breaks to win 10 games because they don't have many really good players and their depth isn't great because they can't scout. They aren't too far off though. They do have some solind players, just no game changers. I still think they would have been 8-8 or better if they didn't blow the Cleveland and TB games back to back. The momentum from those wins would have made a difference.
December 10, 201015 yr I think the OL is the least of the problems honestly. I'd say corner is their biggest strength. RT is a huge need IMO.

Cleveland 2x - Split Baltimore 2x - 2 L Pittsburgh 2x - 2 L Buffalo - W Denver - W Indianapolis - L Tennessee - L Jacksonville - L Houston - L San Francisco - W St. Louis - L Arizona - W Seattle - W I'd guess 6-10 with that schedule.

What does that say about the Bengals' organization then with Marvin being the MOST successful coach they have had over the last 20 years?????
