Highlands defense looked horrible.

 

Sure did, because of Ryle's offense.

One other big thing was on Highlands first kickoff the 15 yard penalty. and of course the offsides.

I'm sorry but Highlands D put Elliott out of the game and had Hempel on the ground slow to get up late in the 4th. I bet if you ask Elliott and Hempel how thin the Birds are, they would beg to differ.

SK is playing alot better than 3 weeks ago. SK's defense is alot more physical than Highlands now I know why SK won't play Highlands it would be an easy win for SK.

Opponents like Scott will definitely help them prepare for a long playoff run. :sssh: Actually, I'm glad they scheduled Scott instead of scheduling Highlands, as it allowed Ryle and Highlands to play each other twice and put on a couple very entertaining and first-rate football games.

I never put down Highlands' defense. They have a very nice defense. And yes, they rung Hempel's bell late in the game. Guess it shows just how tough he is, however, that he still took it upon himself to rush for the game-clinching first down at the end.

I have Direct TV and I had the same problem. I called them and they didn't know why I was getting that game. But they were kind enough to offer to upgrade my sports package for a small nominal fee that might include the game I wanted.

IMO, #9 was the problem for the Birds tonight. The LB's and defensive front, being shorthanded, did not make the plays they needed to. It is never a good stat when your safety is making all the tackles that Seidl made tonight. He was a warrior tonight.

Seidl has great form and is a personal favorite. He is great for the young youth players to watch. He has technique and wraps.

When he went out, the Birds were w/o their feathers on D and Ryle made em' pay for it.

I thought Ryle made the birds look pretty bad tonight. There were some bright spots, but overall, Ryle just kicked tail. You can make all the excuses you want, but Highlands got beat tonight. And personally, I think the score shows a closer game than what I saw. The birds should be proud for not giving up and making it close at the end. I saw too many penalties, too many missed tackles, too much laying on the field, and too many dropped passes. Congrats to Ryle on the great win and congrats to the birds for the unbelievable run. In the grand scheme of things, the loss does nothing to Highlands. They still strap it up next week and start competing for number 20. Hopefully everyone heals quickly and good luck next week.
