Several of Simon Kenton's O-line was too young, no experience . There were more experienced players standing on the side. Size is good,however, it must also be accompanied by experience, strength, and guts!

The way SK was hyped up all summer and heading in to this game, you would've thought that they could have atleast scored once.

 

I said it early in the summer and I'll say it again...SK is wayyy over-hyped and overrated. They'll battle it out with Boone and Conner for the #2 spot in the district.

 

Their offense simply isn't what it was last year and Chad Lawrence can only take you so far, which was shown in this game.

 

Hopefully SK#1fan will be a little more realistic with his predictions in the future after this beatdown the Neers just got.

Middletown is not the team they were last year. The Middies are very, very young. I think they start 2 Sr's on offense and 3 Sr's on defense. They play a lot of Sophomore's and the best player on the field was their Sophomore QB Jalin Marshall. This kid is special. He was a man among boys in this game. Middletown will be a force next year and the year after but I don't think they will be much of a threat for a deep playoff run this year.

 

I believe this is the same soph qb that Sk#1fan said would make too many mistakes for the Middies to knock off the Neers.

Wow. Reading through this thread is difficult, considering the beat down that took place over the weekend... Simon Kenton didn't fare so well either.

In 2008, Middletown beat Colerain 42-39. In 2009, they lost to Colerain 7-10 and beat Moeller by 35. Regardless of how many kids Middletown lost to graduation, this was not a good matchup for SK. Coach Marksberry is a quality coach and didnt lose this one. They were just outskilled at several positions. There was no play in the playbook or player on the sideline that would have made a difference. Good luck to SK the rest of the season. They will be a good football team!

Agreed, good learning experience. Middletown should should contend in there conference and probably make the playoffs. Last years O-Line and Miles might have made some noise, but like I said Chad not being 100% and the line being green no way were they coming home with a W. Very interested into what the Middies QB turns into the next few years. He looked liked he was covered in grease.
