You shouldnt have to hide from your wife dude. : )

Highlands looks like they will have another great year.

I thought they played well. Flew to the football and gang-tackled much better than against Trinity. They broke down on the ball carrier, wrapped and made the sure, if not spectacular, tackle. With Elliott and Hempel to contend with this week, they are going to have to do the same.

All in all, I thought the Birds improved considerably. Granted Manual is not on Trinity's level, but they did the little things better that aren't affected by the level of competion. In addition to demonstrating much better tackling technique, the O line improved. First steps were much better, as was the movement of the hips and body to maintain the block.

Another thing I want to mention is Daniel Gold's downfield blocking. Gold is an excellent wide receiver catching the ball. But he also does an excellent job blocking down field. Well done.

I should have added in the above summary what an absolutely great job Compton had. Just got finished with the tape and not only did he run the ball with authority, he had some exceptional blocks. Just a great game.

I'm glad we're pals. I can feel the love.

 Learn the lingo!

How does this years' Birds D-line compare to last year's?

Obviously they don't have Big Rosie in the middle so are they going to a pure speed attack on the line?

WOW!!! You are kidding right. Have you ever been inside HHS locker room. This is a bush league comment IMO. I must go read your other post.

Are you kidding ? What makes you think that Momma Bird should know how the boys locker room smells at HHS ?

Chad Bowden, Devin Bruns and Austin Hollingsworth. Bruns is probably the biggest as far as thickness goes. Austin Hollingsworth probably the fastest. Bowden has looked very good as well. Bowden and Bruns are both Juniors and Bowden looks to be around 6' 190 lbs.

I thought of you, Friday night, when one of our defenders (I think it was Ty Seidl) had hold of a Manual ball carrier by the foot, at midfield. He held on until another Bird grabbed on; then the two of them held the runner there until a gang of about six more showed up to finish him off.

I would agree with Momma Bird.....for some reason, it was quite a bit more powerful, but to be fair, it definitely smelled like football....think we had an thermal updraft coming off the El Nino.

How many Highlands players play on both sides of the ball??

What would someone at the game say the run to pass ratio was for the Bluebirds??

None.
