Can anyone add anything additional about Manual? Either Pro/con or both ???

 

Someone with the game film will be better to answer that question. Truthfully I couldn't tell if H had a great DL or M had a bad OL. On pass plays M's QB had very little time to pass or scramble.

Congratulations to the Highlands players and coaches! What a way to start the regular season!

I have a question for Manual. Rumor was that the Manual team traveled to NKY Thursday night and spent the night in Bellevue and then had a lite practice at Thomas More. Why would a team do this? If you are not in school yet and you have the whole day to travel, why would you spend the night? I just feel that having your team spend the night in a hotel is unsettling opposed to spending the night in your own bed and getting a good night sleep. Get up and start your day.

 

 

Sleeping in your own bed is definately a better sleep then a hotel room.

 

I don't like to use this term but I actually felt Manual came out flat.

 

You heard correctly. I talked with the father of the Manual head coach on Thursday night and they did practice at Thomas More. However, I can't tell you why they chose to do this.

One more thing and then I'll shut up. I know a lot of people spend countless hours behind the scenes ,and I appreciate their services very much. It would be nice to have two ticket windows open on the south side of the stadium , after all, they have 4 to 6 people at the gate collecting the tickets. Doesn't that sound logical. ?

Congrats to the Birds on the win but I was not impressed with Manual's offense at all. Ryle will be much better so the defense should get right back to business and prepare.

I thought the Bowden boy played a whale of a game last night on the D-line. Multiple sacks and TFL's! Was constantly harrassing in the backfield. And big #1...Ty Seidl...had an outstanding game as well! But I want to know if the first play of the game was Dale's call...or J-Lo's??? LOL!

I thought I would get there early to see the Birds "70" team being honored , nice to see them all again !(Now I feel old !)

 

I was there at 6:55 and there were 50 or 60 people in line , so I did get there early , game time was 7:30 . What time do you think I should get there next week ,so I don't have to wait in line ? (5 ish?) :ohbrother:

Whatever they are paying the ref's is waaaaay too much. I was at the Highlands game but I'm not sure the ref's were. They were not homers , missed and blown calls for both teams.

 

Now the chain gang. Is it too much trouble to get a measurement on the field ? NFL teams get measurements on the field , why not high schools ?

 

To show that I'm not a negative person , I would like to commend the players of both teams. Both teams looked very much in shape,(especially for the first game ) and there seemed to be no problems with cramps or dehydration , great job on both coaching staffs for players safety.

 

I have to respectfully disagree with the bolded part above. Manual didn't look in shape at all, for the most part. HHS wasn't running a fast paced no huddle, but still the Manual D looked winded quite a lot. A lot of the "hands on hips" look across the D even in the first quarter, and a few players requesting to come out after a few plays.
