August 19, 201016 yr Yes, you are the only one that doesn't panic. And the only one who doesn't think Michelle Beadle is gorgeous. I find Michelle incredibly attractive, plus she knows her sports, which doesn't hurt.
August 19, 201016 yr 2 -10 record on the road against STL, ATL, SF, and PHI. STL is 9 - 13 on the road against CIN, SF, PHI, SD, and LA. The Reds have not played LA or SD on the road yet. When did the Reds play on the road against the Giants this year? Why not count all road games for both Cincinnati and St. Louis?
August 20, 201016 yr Author When did the Reds play on the road against the Giants this year? Why not count all road games for both Cincinnati and St. Louis? SF? I might have misread that one. I listed the road games against good teams. The overall road record is irrelevant to the issue in this thread ie can the Reds beat good teams.
August 20, 201016 yr The whole thing may not even matter and the bigger "fraud" could end up that neither the Cardinals or the Phillies make the playoffs.
August 20, 201016 yr The one thing about this that I'd like to know is what he thought of the 06 Cards at this time of year. Or what he thought of the 08 Rays and Phillies at this time of year. Once you make the playoffs anything can happen. I still think the Reds aren't as good on paper as some teams in a 5 or 7 game series, but if they make the playoffs it will be a great ride.

Absolutely, the Cards didn't have "dominant" pitching in 06. They had Carp as their #1. After that it was a mix of Suppan, Weaver, and Reyes(Rookie). Weaver had been picked up off waivers that June b/c his ERA was plus 6.00. I am with the argument that once you get there, anything could happen.

The Cards winning the '06 Series is still one of the more baffling things I have seen in sports. If you make the playoffs in MLB, your chance (within reason) is just as good as anyone else of winning it all.

August 21, 201016 yr This is a silly arguement. The guy loses credibility when he mentions a lack of playoff experience and goes through the roster and leaves out Rolen and OCab. Plus he credits GABP for the Reds offensive numbers. If that's the case shouldn't the Reds pitching staff get extra credit for pitching in the same ballpark? One thing that he and all the other "experts" fail to notice is that the Reds are arguably the best defensive team in baseball. One final thought. After last night the Reds have won 97 of their last 162 games going back to last year. This isn't a mistake and they are not frauds, this has been years in the making.
August 21, 201016 yr He said that was a possibility. He said what was a possibilty? I don't know why people are upset with what he said if he said they aren't as good on paper as the Phillies or Yankees. I'd tend to agree with that.
August 21, 201016 yr I am so glad to see the Reds doing well. but I still think the Cards may have a better team. They have a more balanced lineup and their top three pitchers are in a league of their own. Teams fear facing carpenter, garcie, and wainwright. Do any teams fear facing Bronson, Cueto, Edinson, Wood, or Homer? I still think the Reds will make the playoffs and the Red Birds will be sitting at home, but deep inside we may not be the most talented team in the Central.

August 21, 201016 yr Why do you thing they have a more balanced lineup? Because the pitcher bats 8th. Seriously, if the Cardinals pitchers were that great they wouldn't lose 6 in a row.
September 1, 201016 yr I wonder what the chump has to say now? Say what you want but they are 7 games up!!!
