Where I find him inaccurate is him saying Votto is a product of the ballpark. Look at his splits and you'll see his numbers are better overall on the road.
August 19, 201016 yr .and I'll even go with the Braves. Why the Braves? I know the Reds have a losing record vs them but both teams scored 24 runs in the series. Every game was tight and could of went either way.

His argument as I've heard in the past is that some teams are regular season teams and some are made for the post-season. He said that the Cavs would lose to the Celts because once a playoff series starts the game is different. He says the Reds staff lacks an ace and aces are required for post-season success. Do the Reds have a shutdown pitcher like Carpenter or Wainright? Do you feel good about the Reds going up against the Phils in a 5 or 7 game series going against Halladay, Oswalt, and Hammels?

The Reds have scored 10 or more runs 11 times, 6 on the road and 5 at home. I think yesterday he said their entire team is a product of GABP.

Of course Roy scares the heck out of anyone but after him their staff is average. 3.33 and 3.36 are now average ERAs? Those are 2 very strong 2 and 3s. I'd still take the Cards staff though.

August 19, 201016 yr The Reds may be a fraud but they are a good fraud. You have to win games to get in the post season. They are beating the teams they are supposed to be beating. The Cardinals are not doing that. Cards have beaten good teams but have been laying eggs against the weak teams.

I think the Reds are a very similar team to the Braves. They both play in weak divisions with good pitching and solid offensive production. I was just stacking up teams to the Reds and if you look at the Braves, Padres, Phillies, Giants, and Cardinals, there's no way I'd feel comfortable against any of them on a payoff series. Maybe the Giants, but the rest would scare me. As far as the AL, the Yanks, Sox, Rays, and Twins would beat any of the NL contenders handily IMO.

I've got nothing for the Cards, but there is promise for the Phillies only scored 3 more runs than the Reds over that time.
