I see where Highlands DB Austin Abner is listed as the Kentucky Class 5A, District 5 2010 Preseason Player of the Year, according to the Cats' Pause High School Football Preview. Congrats to him!

If I remember correctly , that was the second biggest plate of crow I have ever seen. The biggest plate of crow was Cardinals Fan and his prediction of last years HHS- Cin. St. X game.

 

(It might be quite a while before anyone tops that huge plate of crow.) lol

 

You have to admit that first game against Ryle that year it was pretty ugly. Coach Turner and the boys really proved me wrong the rest of the year though...GO BIRDS!!!!

I do remember that the line..er...didn't play their best game that night...LOL! One play...pitch sweep...the OT never got out of his stance and the RB got punished! I just loved the quote due to those SR.s being sandwiched between HHS' 2 "best classes ever" !!

It all starts Monday folks. Always interesting to see how the boys react to Dales welcome back day. A day of sharing vacation stories and then finding out who is in really Great Shape after the dead period. Actually, Tuesday becomes the first day of instruction practice if history repeats itself after the running marathon on Monday. Go Birds!! 20n10

I was hoping that you would see the humor in my post , as I recall , there was lots of crow being served last year. I got to taste crow too , and it didn't go down very easy , washed it down with blue cool-aid and still tasted terrible. Go Birds 20n10 !

All at HHS beginning at 9 am going until noon. Wow! Amazing what some gas money will get ya. Go Birds 20n10

The "official" team schedule sent home shows two for the week of 7/19 and one for the week of 7/26. However, this schedule was put together way back in the spring, so the dates for 7 on 7 were mostly tentative back then, and have been updated since then, I am sure.

UHHHH pretty much they way the Media/Coaches picked "Preseason All Americans" in any sport. Based on past experience and what they feel will happen this year. Not real hard to figure out. You know it says "Preseason Player of the Year" right? He still has to perform if he wants more. But really, the boys don't get to caught up in that stuff. It's all about team and winning #20 this year. With that said, Congrats Austin!!! This year is going to be fun to watch. Go Birds!!! 20n10!!!!!!!

Congratulations to Austin for the pre-season accolades. There's no doubt he will continue to earn them. Great kid from a great family! :thumb:
