How much does he weigh? Has he put on weight? He isn't very big in the weight category..

As others have mentioned, Hollingsworth has put on some muscle. Plus, look at Dierig, Snyder and Beck last year. None of them were big kids (Beck was the biggest, but still not what people think of in considering the protypical defensive lineman). Hollinsworth will due a great job in Weinrich's system and you know that Dill will have him well coached are ready to go.

Is there any thought to moving Jason Waldenmeyer (JR) to defensive line? Nice height/weight (6'1"-ish/220-ish)...freakishly long arms with good speed. I know he WAS at center until bumped by Senior Ryan Hahn (last year's LT). I would think Waldo's size/ability would have to be utilized somewhere...especially with all the question marks.

Does anyone have the 7 on 7 schedule for the Birds?

From the schedule I have, which I am sure is subject to change, they have 7 on 7's on July 15, July 20, July 22, July 27. All at 9 a.m til noon.

Do u know who they will be playing?

Sorry, I don't.

Ok lets look at this why would the have bumped him from center and moved Hahn? Yes he does have a long reach and ok speed but just like in years past they play people were they need them to be so the TEAM wins not just a kid. Also what question marks are there, if any they would be on the O-line and Turner will have that working well before the first game.

I really like Jason as a player but not sure if he is fast enough to play on the defensive line. I think he can get some playing time on the o-line if he puts in the work.

I don't see any question marks either. Not sure what UCRN was referring to. I assume he just meant the uncertainty of the O line and D line in general because so many starters needed to be replaced. But knowing who is filling in for those graduated starters, I really don't think there are any question marks. We are going to be in fine shape. I'm sure UCRN didn't mean to offend with his comment.

Really... seems to me he started on the JV D-Line. Heard this season he's moving to offense, I don't think O-players will get the chance to practice defense under the two-platoon system (and vice versa). I have seen several practices and think he's one of the hardest workers on the O-Line; constantly rotating in, great attitude and good blocking skills. Heard he's doing extra workouts on his own time with a trainer. Also heard, he's gotten good reviews at some college camps this summer. There are several guys like Jason that are pushing "starters" to either get better or get out of the way. It's good for the program, to have a little controversy at every position not just QB... keeps them SHARP!:D

Who do you look at to be Highlands #1 running back this year? With Compton coming on strong like he is, does he get the nod for the starting spot?

Good points. The coaching staff obviously feels that Jason can best help the team playing the O line, either as a starter or as a key backup. I'm sure that if Jason keeps working hard and maintains his great attitude, he'll be a key contributor to the success of this year's team. Lot's of practice time between now and the first game for people to be putting the starting O linemen choices in concrete already.

I definitely see Jason as a solid contributer next year especially with the mass exodus of our offensive line of last year. He's a tall and long body that'll be greatly needed to protect Towles.

I guess I need to clear up what I meant. I think Jason will be a good player on the o-line and I am glad he is going to all the camps and getting good reviews. I really like him and hope he pushes Ryan at the center position.
