Hey, I hope this O-line is "the worst HHS o-line, EVER!"...we know how THAT group turned out! wink,wink!! LN hit the nail on the head in a previous post...there ARE questions to both lines as there has been a quantity/quality group move on with graduation. As to the "where's Waldo" question...he's a very dedicated, hard working individual...in and out of the classroom...the kind of kid that Coach T works magic with. I heard he used the "dead period" time to go to camps and got some notice/attention on the defensive side of the ball. Would just seem with his size/frame there would be a spot for him on one side or the other. But hey, those questions will be settled in practice...not from a no-nuttin' internet hack like me!

This is my only question is why is he going to camps and doing the defensive side of the ball? He has been moved to offense and he is a back up center that can and probably will play a lot. Why is he going to these camps and doing the defense? I don't ask to critisize just curious. Again I rally like this kid and hope he plays a lot. For the simple fact that at the next level he projects better on the defensive side of the football. In high school one is asked to do what is best for his team and in Jason's case, that is play on the offensive line. Now what's in Jason's best interest that gives him the best opportunity to continue his football career in his eyes, is on the defensive side of the ball. This is a very common thing that happens on many high school football teams. For example, Collinsworth playing running back last year. He won't see a down at the running back position at Notre Dame but in high school last year that is what Highlands needed from him to succeed to their highest potential.

Probably the same reason that Austin Abner has been attending 1 day College camps and being worked as a Safety and not a Cornerback. Too big and too slow to play CB in college but at 6'-1 and 190 running a 4.6 he is just right for Safety in college. Plus, its a good chance to develope new skills by being versatile. Most kids dont go to these camps to work on getting better at the position they are playing in HS they are there for evaluation as to whether they can play the postion the college wants them to play at the next level. I wouldnt get too hung up on why he is practicing a position he wont play at Highlands. Either way Waldo will find a spot somewhere on the field as all hard working dedicated players do. No need to throw in the white flag haha. This is just a common thing you see in high school and is something fans usually aren't aware of. And yes HHS winning another title is expected year in and year out. 20n10

For the record, he has worked out at camps on BOTH sides including center.

Really? That's awesome. I didn't know that. Great for him. Real proud of him for putting in the work to get better.

For all the fans of other teams-this thread is also why Highlands is so successful year in and year out. THE ENTIRE COMMUNITY CARES THAT THE TEAM IS SUCCESSFUL. This has been passed down from generation to generation.

 

I am not from Ft. Thomas, but certainly admire their passion. If any other team wants to compete with the Bluebirds, you have to get the support of the community, get the peewee teams on the same page as the varsity and you can be great too. Alot of work goes into Highlands football. It doesn't just happen because Dale is a magician, or they have a few great players, or better facilities. It is the whole package. Again, I admire the Bluebirds, and truly hope another Northern Kentucky area and team can match their endless passion. (SK might be there if they could get about 1000 fans like UK#1 fan)

SK is getting there South Kenton is loaded with players and SK games are always packed!

If I remember correctly , that was the second biggest plate of crow I have ever seen. The biggest plate of crow was Cardinals Fan and his prediction of last years HHS- Cin. St. X game.
