Did you get your information from someone with Scout.com? In all seriousness VOR at one point it was 8-2 Highlands and to answer your question Beechwood's varsity defense did not score any touchdowns on Highlands offense. There was one pick in traffic on about the 5 yard line, but that ball would not have been run back. There were some bright spots on both sides of the ball for both teams. I think the scrimmage was probably a little more advantageous for Beechwood, because I think they got a very good idea what it's going to be like facinga Highlands team who will more likely than not have anybody going both ways. I did try to watch both Beechwood quarterbacks. I thought they were both pretty good. Based on yesterday I didn't see much of a disparity between them.

I also heard the first half of the workout was when Highlands was controlling the action with Beechwood experimenting with players and matchups and that is where the 5-1 score came from. So if that is right and you are right on the score total, then the last half when it was 1's vs. 1's the score was more like 3-1? But we nitpick here. Very little of this tells us what will happen in September. It is just 7 on 7's the second week of July. But it is still fun to talk about.

By the way Bluebird fans, Beechwood played Dixie today in a 7 on 7 and the feedback I got is that Towles is way ahead of Pike at this point in time. But I am sure you all already knew that, didn't you?

Yes it would be imperative but they aren't going against anyone while snapping. I just think the reason Coach Mueller did it was so he could get those guys working in the valley. I know every play starts with the center snapping but they have plenty of other time to get that done. JMO.

Well wouldn't you agree. I mean Patrick Towels has 9 starts and a State Championship under his belt. I would agree with that.

Birds looked good today, quit counting after the initial volley, but overall a good workout. The QB and TE from Mason County are going to be a nice combo for them this season, good size TE with good hands running multiple routes. Pat Towles was, well he was Pat. Strong arm, accurate throws, receivers running nice routes. DB's for HHS looked good, getting to the ball frequently. Took a trip to Death Valley and checked out the linemen today (lest we forget about them during 7 on 7). These guys are getting after it, hitting the sleds, grass drills, relay racing.....ahhh yes...had to be at least 10 degrees hotter down there, and no air moving at all. Good workout today by all it would appear.

....and all staying well hydrated. Great job by the coaches today making sure the boys were safe.

Something about the sound of the sleds in July letting us know that football is just around the corner. Kinda like lightening bugs in June to let you know summer is here.

I hate to beat a dead horse but that's why ALL the linemen are down in the valley. Correct me if I'm wrong but I saw a couple running backs as well down there right? I think it is so important to hit the sleds and do all teh footwork down there. The pictures are great!!! I love seeing them get after it.

Yes, there were some backs. They rotate through. Word is that Dale likes them to get a workout in....I think it's more just to give them an appreciation of the blue collar guys....no disrespect to anyone

So the big question this year is what will Highlands do when it comes to offense? What kind of percentages are we looking at for run/pass? Im thinking (hoping) its 60/40 pass to run ratio. Any thoughts?

I hope your right about the 60/40 pass. The only thing that scares me is all of the drop balls I saw the other day. I know Patrick will be solid, but the wideouts worried me a bit the hour I watched against Anderson. Maybe I am just spoiled from last year. Buten and Drennan were very good recievers...

Sheehan was out that game and I think a couple more were out as well. I think they will get it together. But nothing is more frustrating then dropped balls in my opinion.

I said many times during the year last year that the Highlands receivers did not get nearly enough credit. Last year's receivers weren't just good, they were great IMO.
