Walter
No, Smallwood is the ace. You're right...Stansberry is the Sophomore that also plays basketball, right?
Ballfour
You're right...Stansberry is the Sophomore that also plays basketball, right? Not quite, Stansberry is a senior also. He would probably be the #2 pitcher.
theshack13
Not quite, Stansberry is a senior also. He would probably be the #2 pitcher. Brett Stansberry does have a little brother that does play basketball and also plays on the JV baseball squad, Parker Stansberry.
Solomon
They said Stansberry actually pitched pretty well. He came out with the score 2-0, then Barnhorst came in.
Theoldguy
Gee guy's can't a guy take his wife out to dinner with friends after a big game? The Good: Matt Klein goes three for four with two rbi's, Chirs Gerwe goes four for four, Brett Stayton three run HR and Adam "The hundred pitch man" Warning holds Dixie to zero earned runs on seven hits. The Bad & The Ugly: Not when you run rule the #1 preseason ranked and undeafted top team in the Ninth Region for 2010. There is no bad or ugly tonight. Now for the Pee Wee's Place Offensive play of the game: CovCath bottom of the 4th inning and the score is tied 0-0. Neil Martin lays down a perfect bunt down the third base line on a 1-1 count. Man on first, no outs. Schlagbuam again on a 1-1 count lays down a perfect bunt and both runner are safe. Men on first and second no outs. Stansberry throws a WP and both runner move up. Men on second and third no outs. Young Severson on a 1-1 pitch gets a base hit and knocks in Martin for the 1st run of the game. Runner on first and third still no outs. Young Reese bunts and Stansberry's only play is to first as Schlagbuam scores but Stansberry throws the ball over the first basemen head. Everybody is safe and the score is now 2-0. CovCath now with with runner on second and third and still no outs. First out as Siemer K's but Warning walks to load the bases and Maxwell takes Stansberry out and in comes Barnhorst. Barnhorst throws a WP and Severson scores and all the runner move up 3-0. Klein up and he hits a single to drive in both Reese and Warning to make the score 5-0 and only one out. Gerwe at the plate and he hits a single still only 1 out and men on first and second. Stayton at the plate and on a 3-1 count Stayton hits his first HR of the season over dead center field with Klein and Gerwe on to make it 8-0 to end the CovCath 4th inning. Now for The BAWAC Inc. Defensive play of the game: Nothing fancy, nothing special but CovCath just did what they were suppose to do and that was to catch the ball, hit the cutoff man and play smart baseball. CovCath did make two errors and one of those errors allowed the two unearned runs to score but overall, they played well. More as I get it done! Theoldguy
They said Stansberry actually pitched pretty well. He came out with the score 2-0, then Barnhorst came in. Stansberry did indeed come out with the score 2-0 but he was the pitcher of record for an additional 3 runs that scored in that inning! In that inning, he faced 6 batters and only recorded one out while five CovCath batters got on base and all five that got on scored.
Solomon
Wow what a win by CCH. Good to hear Adam Warning threw a gem. I've always thought he was a very good pitcher. I'm not sure why he wasn't utilized more at CCH. Edited April 8, 2010 by Solomon sp

I only see one hit to the outfield in the inning (4th) while he was in.
