JOHNWAYNE
Jordan Fritz, he doesn't get the press but should be a household name in the state. Put him on catholic and he would. Thrown over 2000 yards this season and 7000 for 2.5 seasons. If he had the receivers he would have much more than that for this season.
pancho
There are a lot of different aspects to consider in determining who's the best QB in the state. "Leadership" is one quality that's really tough to observe from the stands just once a week on Friday night. There are some guys that just get more out of the rest of their teams and that chemistry can't be faked. To separate the great from the merely good you also have to see how the guy handles success (is it all me or does the line get any credit?) and failure. What does the QB do when the defense or special teams are on the field? A great one is still "in the game" and showing his appreciation whenever he can. Genuine enthusiasm can make a lot of difference. I'm biased because I've been fortunate to be watching Burke so much over the past three years but when I try to put my finger on why I think he's "great", a lot of it is from how he seems to interact with the other players on the sidelines. It's more than being smart, he's also got heart.
JOHNWAYNE
With that being said, Fritz is a leader as well as Justin Burke, he has earned the respect of his team mates and his coach. As fars as grades he maintains a 3.91 GPA, and has not missed a day of church. Just a good kid. I think its great that we have kids like Burke, Fidler and Fritz and I'm sure a lot others today that are being looked up to and are good roll models. Im partial to Fritz because I have seen him play and see the heart and effort that he puts forth. He also is playing defense about every play and then going in on offense. Takes a lot out of a player. Does Fidler and Burke have to play d as well??

No way you have a kid that can throw like Will taking a chance on injuring his shoulder by hitting people on defense.
UNDERTHEBRIDGE
I don't know about Burke but Fidler does not play defense. No way you have a kid that can throw like Will taking a chance on injuring his shoulder by hitting people on defense. Burke doesn't play D for same reasons, though it helps that Lex Cath has decent enough players at the positions he plays to also mean he isn't really needed. JOHNWAYNE, im partial to any QB who likes to mix it up and play a little D, sounds like Fritz is a pretty good all around guy and your right I haven't heard much about him. In fact I don't even know where he plays.
Cawoodball player
Considering all of the hype surrounding him, and his verbal commitment with NC State, I would have to give the nod to Justin Burke of Lexington Catholic. I have never seen Burke play, but he must be pretty darn good. I have seen Olinger from Hazard play, and I was pretty impressed with him. I have seen better, but he was solid. Farva
I watched Olinger play Pikeville on Friday and he made them look silly. Not only is he a heck of an athelte who can make plays with his legs, but the kid has a nice arm. He also throws a very accurate and very catchable ball. Olinger doesn't have the best size in the world, but I think he is capable of playing D1.
msjball4
Justin Burke is without a doubt the best qb in the state. All you have to do is look at the kid's numbers and that sick td/int ratio which is an outstanding 45/2. He can also run the ball which is an extra bonus. Houndman
Yeah according to his numbers you could leave him out but he is more to that team probably than any other quarterback is. When Cashen was out Corbin struggled offensively. Cashen had an excellent season as a freshman with a great supporting cast. This year it took a little bit because of new kids having to play different spots. Look the way the Hounds are playing now and a big contributor to that is Cashen

fanofregion10
Jordan Fritz doesn't just mix it up by playing defense, he is in on every play of the game until the starters are pulled. Including punt returns and kick off. His sophomore year he received the "big hit" award for defense. He is one tough guy.
BrewDog
I haven't seen many, but the kid from Ashland throws a real nice pass. He has one excellent receiver, which helps alot. Not taking anything away from the Ashland QB, but without his acrobatic go-to guy, we probably wouldn't even be talking about him. But then again, I've never seen a great QB who didn't have a player or two who could make great catches.

highschoolsportsfan
I have seen several games this year, and I would have to say Jordan Fritz is the best QB I have seen so far. He has a great arm, leads his team in rushing, very illusive and a great kid to boot. According to Coach Peterson, his stats after week 10: 149 of 225 for 2272 yards and 30 TD's. 102 rushing attempts for 591 yards and 11 TD's. Pretty impressive stats in my book
