Fidler had 4000 his Junior year alone. He will have close to 10,000 for his career depending on what he does in the playoffs.

Burke's numbers are insane and if you are truly looking at the best QB not just the best athlete, 45 TD's against only a couple of interceptions against excellent competition says it all. I thought that Fidler would be the best this season, but I believe Burke has taken over the top QB spot in the state right now.

 

A lot of talk about Clint Cashen. I love this kid, but he is not D1 caliber and size is part of that. I don't think he is quite 6' tall and really needs to improve his footwork and speed. If the Draughn kid from Pulaski who was the coaches poll 3A Player of the Year his senior season, a state leader (top 10) in passing and rushing isn't offered a D1 scholarship for football due to only being about 6'1" tall, then I can't see Cashen getting those D1 offers. But make no mistake, he is the best sophomore QB in the state this year.

 

I would probably have to agree. Fidler's number have suffered some this year, IMO, due to 2 factors.

 

1. With the injury to Cedric Rainey they really lose that power running game that forces teams to load the box. This allows teams to rush 4-5 and drop everyone else into coverage.

2. Lack of production from the 3 receiver. Teams are doubling Lamar and Nord. Without a true 3 receiver then Fidler has had to force a good deal. The balls that have been thrown to the 3 have, most of the time, been dropped.

 

Teams have almost dared HC to beat them with the run.

He Is not even the best QB In Bell County.

 

 

He has better numbers than Hoskins and Nelson but that's only because he throws the ball 25 to 30 times a game.

He is better than both of them hands down.

What about Woodward for Owensboro Catholic. He is having an impressive year, as are many.

I would say you could take this list and add Fidler, Holbrook, Cashen and Fritz and you would have all the best. These are the ones that most everyone talks about.

I don't think he ran a 4.5 at the Combine before the season started. 73 yards wow! I don't think many college QB's have an arm like that.

You have got to be kidding Cashens is not even the best in Knox, Whitley or Laurel Co.'s hes not that good now Pugh from Paintville good the kid from Leslie great. But Cashens does not even belong on this thread a great Qb. plays well all the time. Not when they get in the weak distric play. Subtract Cashen (for now) & add Quentin Morgan from Leslie & you have yourself a heck of a list.

He did not run a 4.5 at the Lynn Camp combine he was much slower than many other boys there. Blackwood from Corbin, Chaffin Lynn Camp, Rieder Whitley,and a kid from Knox Central only one's even close to or @ 4.5..

You must have made the above statement because of one of the following:

a. Complete lack of knowledge on QB's.

b. A grudge against either Cashen or Corbin.

c. You have never seen Cashen play.

d. The tri-county area must be the hot-bed on QB talent in the country.

 

Cashen is not the best QB in the state(I have not seen where anyone claims that he is), but he would not be rated as one of the top 6 sophomore QB's in the country if you were right.

 

Cashen's best games last year were in the playoffs against E-town, DeSales and Owensboro Catholic. These were big games against teams with plenty of athletes and talent(several div-1 players on these teams. Contact the coaches of these teams and ask their opinion of Cashen and see if they agree with yours.

Not seen many of the qb's listed play but knowing Ian Holbrook and his leadership and his ability, i have to bring up his name!

You know there is a junior that really hasn't been mentioned that has numbers better than most of any of the QB's mentioned previously. Ammons has 3,000 yards passing 40 TD's and 800 rushing with 16 TD's.

I think its funny that people are knocking Cashen for being short. Burke is listed at 6'2", but I bet he is closer to 6'0"

I'm with 4chs on his view of Clint Cashen. I favor him because he goes to Corbin but I can 100% honestly say without any bias that he outplayed Chris Todd (E'Town/Texas Tech) and played even if not a little better than Zach Bernard (OCath/Marshall). I can guarentee you than both of their coaches would agree with me on that. The Coach from O'Cath was/is very high on Clint. Apparently national recruiting gurus think so too.
