  1. 1. BRIAN BROHM 2. Matt Ryan 3. Andre Woodson 4. John David Booty 5. Healthy Dennis Dixon 6. Josh Johnson 7. Erik Ainge, yup i said it... 8. Flynn, Keller, etc.... I really think two things, Brohm is the best pro quarterback in the draft and Andre Woodson is a better quarterback than Erik Ainge. You can fit the mold of a pro quarterback all you want, I think Woodson is a better player and gets it done, bad showcase or not...
  2. i dont think the option is ENTIRELY the way to go, especially in the SEC where linebackers running 4.4s are common. I think allow Pulley's speed to exploit some teams on SOME option play and some getting Pulley on the perimeter in some option passing plays would be most effective. WVU can run the spread option to death in the Big East, I don't think it would be as stable for UK in the SEC, especially without an offensive line bred to run in space and mash and a great backfield from A-Z. Pat White, Steve Slaton, and Owen Schmidt were arguably the best at what they did in the country in a defense free conference.
  3. Former South Laurel Cardinal Zach Marcum plays for Troy as well...as for pipelines Im unaware, but I do know they look to KY occasionally
  4. what a terrible thread...are you being serious All Tell? You're only starting this thread to rub in UK's poor play, not a general interest. If it wasn't Kentucky, you'd say team A with similar schedule, wins losses ( one over Louisville i think?:sssh: ) etc, you'd say they deserve the bid. But it's UK, so you're throwing a hissy. UK will be in, get over it, don't be such a baby.
  5. I disagree very much. Proffitt is an excellent passer for South Laurel and can score from to time but I think overall, Crawford is the better player. Defensively in the post and up on backcourt players, knowing when and when not to take shots (somethign Proffitt tends to not discern at times) and gaining entrance to the paint and scoring with his size and speed is something I think Crawford does better than Proffitt. Think of it this way, could Proffitt do the things he does without the players around him??? He makes the team better, but I think if Proffitt was on Corbin's team, he wouldn't look as impressive.
  6. Because there is none...The SEC may be down in lacking a team that is slated as unbeatable, but I do recall 3 years ago the last time we did have one, LSU beat an "unbeatable" Oklahoma team...the same LSU who struggled through the SEC vs Georgia, Auburn and losing to Florida got a shot and showed the country the difference in tough conference play and a heavyweight bullying his way around a down conference that year. Other conferences don't understand the SEC because they don't have to endure it. While Ohio State is on the road pounding teams like Northwestern and Indiana into oblivion, Arkansas is battling teams like LSU and Auburn...there's a major difference there.
  7. I read some stipulations as to where Kentucky could sneak into the Fiesta Bowl... Ok, seriously. LSU played a much tougher schedule, and one could argue they're the best team in the SEC at the end of the regular season, just not on paper. I think they deserve the BCS bid. Arkansas is one tough team as well, they were playing a no win game against LSU, the only game that matters is this week vs Florida. I think UofL would probably match up against Florida better than Arkansas with the styles of play and Arkansas's smash mouth offense posting nearly 300 yards rushing on the nation's number one defense isn't what Louisville wants IMO.
  8. Woodwon is behind Russell, Ainge, and Leak, but no other IMO
  9. GREAT TOPIC I graduated from Corbin in 2005 vs my Father in 1982 a State Champ Team. I'm posting this from second hand information since my father hasn't gotten into the entire cyber world of Bluegrasspreps LOL According to him and his buddies, we had a minor size and overwhelming speed advantage over the old Redhound team, but it would have been a very good game in terms of smashmouth football.
  10. As "bad" as UK looked, UK will beat Georgia this year, mark my words.
  11. on regards to the Cashen vs Trevor debate, i disagree ENTIRELY that Clint isn't the superior QB on several facets: System? Corbin is pretty 50/50 in play callin generally, isn't M'boro fairly similar? hmmm Long Ball? Clint has a great longball, he can throw it close to 50-60 something, thats A VERY LONG PASS, i will stick my neck out and say trevor doesnt throw 20 yards farther and i would bet you haven't watched the two lineup and see who can throw farther. I can recall Cashen's first game vs M'boro throwing a streak on a rope for roughly 45 yards right into a receivers arms. hmmm Head to Head: Passing camps are not necessarily reflective of a QBs passing ability, there are so many facets taken out of the game like poise, coverage recognition on a whole field not just the secondary, blitzing, etc. On real Head to head stats in two offense where the QB is the make or break system, Clint is 2-0. hmmm...
  12. M'boros defense is EXTREMELY aggressive as far as play calling goes, Cashen will have man to man coverage all night as long as the line can give him a lil time, Cashen will pick apart M'boro for the 3rd year in a row. Corbin 28 M'boro 14
  13. good job hounds, sounds like Clint played very well, the key to their success is giving him time to throw. With 3-5 secs in the pocket, Clint can pick apart nearly every defense...as long ashe doenst have to throw on the run or force passes, hes as good as anybody...KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK HOUNDS
  14. Saw this on another thread....Sams is from Corbin...Got to love a Redhound taking over a program..Found this on North's website... http://www.geocities.com/muhlenbergnorthfootball/Shane_sams_named_head_football_coach_at_mnhs.html Shane Sams Named Head Football Coach at Muhlenberg North April 11th, 2006 Shane Sams is the new head football coach at Muhlenberg North High School. 15. Whitley just seems to blow each game with Corbin. If the game is close Whitley will find a way to loss the game. They choke.
  16. You beat me to it UKThrower, Grider was pretty good as a sophomore hitting the 150s on his best days in discus and i believe this past year was the first year he tried his hand in shotput so I expect him to do pretty well his junior year
  17. Millay is a good ball player, I do recall him having some good size and some good footwork, I think he's got some potential at the next level.
  18. Ohh I'm by no means downplaying his athletic ability, I think he's a great guy with a gift, I'm just stating that a 40 inch vertical is a ways off the floor...nonetheless best of luck to him in representing the Tri-County area well
  19. Well...sadly injuries forced Mills, Lawson, and Marlow out of football and off the field conflicts with Cain kept him from going to the next level. Currently Stradley remains playing.
  20. ohh get me by no means, the college I'm attending right now has roughly 5-10 players squatting 500+ at the NAIA level and the one particular year of high school was one of the strongest in school history but a 405 parallel squat is a great squat for someone his size, but its not something thats just unbelievable, I've never seen the kid play but I would be willing to say he can squat that much, in reference to my college(Cumberland) there are several running backs squatting 405 their freshmen year.
  21. Sounds like pretty reliable sources, I apologize for coming off so harshly but with reason you can understand that in lifting threads numbers tend to get exaggerated and thats quite a feat for a young man, nonetheless its been achieved with some hardwork and a good workout plan. However, at the college level we do not condone squatting over 600 for it is very bad for the back at that amount, I would believe these coaches know when to cut off the weight for their players.
  22. I've seen a few 500 lb squats but the 600 is bit hard to believe, and to have that many good squatters ashland needs to be winning some state championships or running for about 1,000 yards an outting.
  23. Sounds a bit suspect, Power clean is usually the weakest lift among freshmen, a.) to be cleaning that much more than you bench that young almost never happens, b.) someone that young usually hasn't mastered the technique of power clean that well to be cleaning over 300 so i may have to call false on this claim
  24. 40" vertical leap? Some of the speed stories are pretty legitmate as he posted pretty good times at track meets in HS but over a 40" vert? there are good basketball players that don't have that kind of hops
