January 12, 201016 yr New season starts tonight. Paula is out. Ellen Degeneres is in. Apparently this will be Simons last season. Any thoughts?

January 12, 201016 yr Hopefully Simon's departure will be another bullet that brings down the beast. I hate, hate, hate this show, and cannot wait for its demise.
January 12, 201016 yr Not a big 'Idol' fan, but there is no question that Simon is a big, big part of its success and you have to assume his departure will have an impact, especially when he's going to start up a show to directly compete with 'Idol.'

January 12, 201016 yr I like the casting shows much better than the sing offs. I didn't watch the show at first but have the past 2 or 3 years. It gets irritating watching popular less talented singers hanging around because the 13 year texters like them. I think Ellen is going to be good for the show. Paula was difficult to listen to as she "analyzed" performances.
