May 27, 201016 yr So was tonight the "end" of Idol? I don't watch past the casting episodes but I don't see the show lasting too long without Simon. I saw the Janet portion, and it looks like she ate Michael, that booty is large.
May 27, 201016 yr Bret Michaels was a nice touch. Gibb Brothers too. Idol gives back, not many shows do this. Mama wanted Crystal to win, said she is better. She was a very nice person to show that she wasn't upset in losing. I was impressed. I do like Simon/Randy. Ellen cannot help the singers get better, she has no clue and nees to go.
May 27, 201016 yr Glad Lee won... I didn't like him in the beginning, but he won me over the first time he sang "The Boxer" -- One of my favorite songs of all time.

I saw the Janet portion, and it looks like she ate Michael, that booty is large. IMO ... Simon leaving has very minor impact on the show's ongoing viability. Yes, he was entertaining and hopefully they will find someone else who can be entertaining and very frank in commenting on the performers. But the show is about the performers first and foremost. The fact that Simon will not be there to comment will have minimal impact on whether I watch the show or not. I think Simon is right in leaving at this time. The audience's often overboard reaction to him and his comments this year was actually irritating and distracting.
May 27, 201016 yr Bret michaels made the guy singing with him sound awful. My thoughts as well lol. Any chance the voters didnt' go for Crystal because she is a single parent? Not that it matters to me one bit, but I know how some people can be.
April 7, 201610 yr I resurrect this thread on the day of Idol's last ever show. I'm going to miss it. Love watching those who are looking for their big break get up and perform. I'm always amazed at how many good singers there are across the country. Two finalists are a black lady from Mississippi who is great and a skinny white kid also from Mississippi who has a lot of soul in him.

April 7, 201610 yr Every time I watch Idol I think of Birdsfan. Absolutely. When my mom was sick, in and out of the hospital and nursing homes, BF always texted me updates and evaluations of performances.
April 7, 201610 yr I used to be a big fan but my interest dwindled. I will say that every time I have made the effort to watch it, I have always enjoyed.
