Brossert over Highlands 65-59 @ Ft. Thomas off the scoreboard. Any details?

Wow...I realize Highlands played without Kowolonek and Grote but this score still surprises me.

Me too. Congrats to BB. Great win.

Big win for the Stangs, and they do so by scoring over 60.

Highlands beats Mason and loses to Brossart... interesting things happen in December!

Mustangs come out on fire, going up 20-5 after the 1st quarter. 'Birds cut it to 7 or 8 at the half, come on blazing in the 3rd and cut the BB lead to 2. Brossart withstood the onslaught, and righted the ship moving the lead into the 8-12 point range most of the rest of the game. Armstrong huge again hitting something like 10-12 down the stretch in the 4th to seal the upset, and led all scorers with about 25. Sounded like a very physical game--Grubbs led well-rounded HHS's scoring with about 12-13.

Highlands won the JV game, while Brossart freshmen won the lid lifter by about 12.

Brossart absolutely dominated. Even though highlands hung around Brossart dictated everything and the Bluebirds were literally on their heels the whole time.

Rule #13

Great night for the Mustangs who came out shooting, putting 20 on the board to Highlands' 5 in the first period. Get outscored 17-10 in second period to lead 30-22 at half.

Highlands cut it to 2 at 36-34 mid-third, Mustangs re-open to 9 and hit all their free-throws down the stretch to post the win.

Jordan Armstrong posts career-high 25 points including 10-12 from charity stripe down the stretch to ice the win. Rieger plays huge puts up 15 and lots of boards. Sophomore Zack Fardo nails two HUGE threes in third quarter, finishes night with 10.

Tyler Grubbs is a load, leads Birds with 13. Cory Dill is another wide-body scores 11. As previosuly stated by another poster, Birds went without Grote and Kowolonek tonight, which only bodes well for Birds' future.

Mustangs 6-0 heading to Deming on Tuesday night, prior to playing in Ashland Invitational on the 28th-29th-30th.

Does not surprise me. I said at the beginning of the season that Brossart will surprise some people. They play very good defense.

CONGRATES TO BROSSART TONIGHT!!!

Highlands came in giving up only 44 pts per game.

They simply punched Highlands in the mouth in the 1st Q. 20-5. :notworthy:

Highlands closed to 36-34 but Brossart controlled the rest of the game. :notworthy:

Nice win for BB and Coach Mike Code!

Where was Highlands PG tonight? Hurt, sick or something else?

Played virtually the entire game, assuming you're meaning Lother?

Sounds like BB controlled the game the whole way and held tough when it counted. Off to an awfully nice start!

Very suprised by this one.
