The kid is tough. He's taken some huge hits this year, and he seems to come back every time.

So I would guess no more cameramen on the Dixie sideline?

I would think so if that's what truly happened. If I'm Tom, only my players, assistants, and trainers are on the sideline from now on.

So who exactly is responsible for making sure the guys shooting video and pictures on the sidelines are out of the way of the officials? I work a lot of college games in that capacity, and there is always someone making sure I stay out of the restricted areas that could cause a penalty.

While I still don't buy that it was someone with a camera that drew the flag based on the reaction I saw from the Dixie sideline on both big plays (the warning on the early 1st Q play and the flag on the long TD), even if it was that is on Dixie to monitor any way you slice it.

"The camera guy cost us the game" argument is weak at best...

A high school staff shouldn't have to worry about outsiders on their sidelines. If these people were professionals you wouldn't need " babysitters" for them.

Remedy: Ban them. pretty simple..

I agree. How can a coach and the assistant coach's call the plays of the game and also worry about who the heck is on the sideline with the exception of the players and trainers? I would like to know the affiliation of the person the ref ran into.

Didnt see this one coming. I watched Cov Cath last week, and I didn't think they could have scored 39 in 4 games after last weeks offensive outing.

I can see why you would see it this way. If you'll notice though...there were several of us saying that for some reason or other, Cov Cath's offense really didn't seem to show up to play last Saturday. Highlands' defense gave them a beating no doubt, but they still were not in good form at all.

I do not blame the camera guy at all. I would not want to ban camera guys from the sideline. They are there to support the high school players making plays. That is the worst type of government. Let's make a rule because of a bad situation. I feel confident that this offiical will not make the same call again. Go Red Colonels!!!

Good way to eliminate any positive press for your school. Awesome plan.

Plus Dixie had at least 4 people taking pictures and shooting video down there. Are we positive it wasn't one of their own people???

I dont think Dixie had anyone shooting video on the field. I thought teams had a video camera in/near the press box so they could get a shot of the whole play(for film room purposes).

We will all find out this week. The game is beng televised on ICN6 I believe Tuesday. Anyway the camera person was just doing their job trying to get a picture of a kid running down the sideline for a touchdown 35 yards away. Hard to find fault with the camera person. I think we all know who blew the call.
