Covington Catholic 39 Dixie Heights 34

Featured Replies

I got lucky and was close on the points, but someone else called for the 1000 yards of offense.

I said 1000 yards and 100 points...I guess between us we are a collective genius!

:ylsuper:

From the Cincy Enquirer:

Covington Catholic 39, Dixie Heights 34

After struggling in last week’s senior-day loss to Highlands, Covington Catholic quarterback Brayden Erpenbeck was determined that he and his fellow seniors would play another game on the Colonels’ home field.

On Friday night, Erpenbeck certainly showed that he longed to return home again by rushing for 226 yards, passing for 226 more and accounting for four touchdowns to lift CovCath to a come-from-behind 39-34 road victory over Dixie Heights in a crucial district game.

And to add to that from that article:

After the game, Dixie Heights coach Tom Spritzky sat with his coaches and watched a video of the play several times. Based on the video, it appeared as if the only violator of the rule was a television cameraman who is not affiliated with Dixie Heights.

So I would guess no more cameramen on the Dixie sideline?

Let's not forget Wison: 21-31 for 375 yards and a few TDs. He ran for 50 +. He also had a dropped TD in the endzone. Tack on the 90 yard TD pass that was called back and his night was even better than erpenbecks. Both qbs were great

And he took a lickin and kept on tickin.

I just think it is funny that they blamed it on the camera guy. If all else fails blame on it someone else.

An official told me that if the official chose to call the penalty on the home team that it should not have taken the points off of the board.

Blamed what?

Does anyone have video or link (to YouTube, etc.) of the so-called 'camera guy' penalty? It would make a great post.

Some of you guys just don't get it. The cameraman is not to blame for the loss. There was plenty of game left still left to be played. Both teams played hard, this game was a great game. It's too bad either team lost. That play was a big momentum changing play in the game. There were big plays during the entire game.

Thank You!

That's correct.

Yea i think we get it. 6 points were taken off the board by nothing our players did wrong. Big momentum change. It also changes the way they go about their offense. Final score by the way was 39 to 34, add those 6 points back on and wouldn't you know the outcome is just a bit different (yea i know the outcome could of been different even with those 6 points).

Bottom line is it did change things.

Not taking anything away from Cov Cath's win, they came to play.
