Insight provides cable TV service to Kenton and Boone Counties through the Telecommunications Board of Northern Kentucky. Insight provides cable TV service to most of Campbell County (but not Ft. Thomas) through Campbell County Media Central. The Cov. Cath. vs. Dixie game was produced by TBNK Sports and will air on Insight channel 22 in Kenton and Boone Counties. The ICN 6 games (which typically air live) are produced by Insight and air in Kenton, Boone and most of Campbell County.

If this sounds confusing...it is. Over the past 10-15 years lawyers have been churning out billable hours by the wheel barrow over who is going to broadcast what to whom.

I enjoyed watching Haggerty play last night. Although I am a Cov. Cath. fan, I have to agree if the penalty that brought back Haggerty's long run was in fact for cameraman interference, Dixie has a legitimate beef. It was a great run. The flag took points off the scoreboard (literally) and gave Dixie the ball inside their own 5 facing a 3 down and forever to pick up a first down. A big momentum changer. On the other side...what was the deal with the clock last night?? There were many instances in the fourth quarter when Dixie was trying to rally that the clock was stopped when it should not have been, and not started when it should have been. Tremendous job by Erpenbeck. Michael Robinson is starting to work himself back into form.

Camera guys can be there but there have to be bounderies. Just watched the Highlands vs. St. X game again tonight on tape and those guys, (professionals they may be) do a great job of covering every aspect of that game with out interfering whatsoever. At the same time, there were plenty of photographers there that stayed within their range of what they were allowed. Not a problem and trust me , the sidelines were much more crowded at the Highlands / X game than the Dixie / Cov. Cath. game.

This is only my opinion and I have to defend the officials on this one. There is so much bashing of officials on BGP from cowards that hide behind fake names and blast officials. These officials work very hard to put the best product on the field. In general, we have a very good group in Northern Kentucky. We should count our blessings.

I think that some of ya'll have to think about the officials in situations like this. I would think that it wouldn't be much fun to be watching the action on the field, while side stepping down the sidelines and get blind-sided by a coach, or even worse, a camera lens.

Everyone has a digital camera these days and most of these schools allow anyone with a camera on the sidelines. It is out of control. There are way too many amateur and professional photographers on the sidelines. Sometimes, it's a circus on the field. I think that each school has to take responsibility and have their game administrator control who has a sideline pass. It is a privilege to be on the sidelines, not a right. In no way is it the officials fault for calling a penalty. No one takes responsibility for their actions anymore, it's always someone else's fault. I’ll get off my soap box now.

Games and stats are not made on "what if's". Wilson is a great QB and had an awesome game but Erpenbeck got the better part tonight.

Excatcly. The home team school and the coach are responsible for what goes on on the sidelines whether it is coaches, players, admin. , or media. If it gets in the way of the game , i.e. just like the band can be too long at half, it is the home teams responsiblity.

What is very interesting about the sidelines is that the players have the best seat in the house. The area marked for the players and coaches is more than adequate for a view of the whole field. I think the distance from the sideline to the designated area is @3 yards. Very prime spot for a sporting event. Yes it is the team's responsibility to manage their sideline. I would even bet that every high school team carries a coaching staff of 10-15 coaches. assign one for the responsibility of your sideline. Hard lesson for Dixie during a great game but if they were warned and did not comply shame on the coaching staff.

It's always funny to listen to some of the comments defending the refs and talking about how perfect some sdelines are run until something like this happens to their team. Then all of sudden they aren't in such a hurry to put the ref under their wing.

Should we defend the officials for taking the touchdown off the board also. Another huge blunder on top of "the call". The crew was weak at best and seemed very confused all night.

People yell and carry on about refs at all levels of sport. It is simply part of the game and makes for great conversation. I stand on the sidelines, with my camera, and always marvel at what I hear. For whatever reason some fans seem to believe it is their right to scream the worst stuff a a guy in stripes. "you idiot" "get some glasses" "Homer". It is a mob mentality. Easy to yell those things when surrounded by a group who is on your side or on a message board. Must be a kin to road rage.

The student sections are fairly well policed by administration personnel, crowds should be better monitored and refs should be reviewed and removed if they are horrible. In the end its only a game and we all have a passion for our teams. Not much will change and we fans, cameramen, officials and students will do it all again next week.

Agreed. Sports brings out all kinds of emotion. I guess that's the beauty of it!

Good way to eliminate any positive press for your school. Awesome plan.

Plus Dixie had at least 4 people taking pictures and shooting video down there. Are we positive it wasn't one of their own people???

So the only place to get a good picture is on the sideline? Whatever. I guess maybe the individual should be banned. Perhaps the media should consider it a privilege and not their right to be allowed access to these teams and venues. Believe it or not, you need them more than they need you.

I'm sure both coaches know what their real issues are with their teams. It's figuring out how to stop people.

I am not saying defend the ref. I am saying take responsibility. Dixie was warned and apparently did nothing about it. They paid the price.
