I find it funny how Ryle beats a bad CovCath team and now they are going to beat the Birds..Cracks me up..Could Ryle beat HHS?? I guess anything could happen I just don't see it. Highlands is loaded and will win by at least 3 scores..GO BIRDS!!!!!:ylsuper:

No. I don't care if what he is saying is true. I am brutally honest at times and not everyone agrees with me. And I have no dog in the fight. But the mocking and disrespectful way with which he relays thats honest opinion is what I'm alluding to. Give your honest opinion, it is just more respected if you don't act snotty about it. It will "crack me up ha ha" IF in fact Ryle does come out and make this a heck of a game.

WOW!!! 50 points. I will say this, I watched the replay of the Ryle/Covcath game from Friday and I don't see how either of these two teams beat Highland. Ryle seems to have a better chance because of better players but still don't see it happening. Covcath is in for another long season. Sorry boys from Park Hills.

I don't know......Ryle's 95 squad was pretty good. They beat up a state finalist Highlands that year in Union. Beat them up pretty bad....

I know you were at the Ryle CovCath game and that you know a lot about football, but 50 points and the game not being close? Man, that's a pretty strong prediction. You just trying to fire up the Raiders? J/K because I know you don't do that stuff and you call them as you think they'll happen. I really hope you are right. :thumb:

 

I know the Raiders think this is a chance to prove to everyone that they are at Highlands level, but I also know the Birds are rather irritated with the posts that have questioned their abilities and have stated that the Birds are over-rated. Both teams should be ready to go. While this year's Highlands team doesn't have the rah-rah type players that like to jump around and scream before the game (which caused several posters to claim they came out flat against Manual when they were not), I'll be really surprised if they aren't laser focused and ready to play. It's business time. Each player on Highlands team needs to simply do his assignment each and every play and good things will happen. Every player maintain his block until the whistle regardless of whether the ball is coming to your side or not. Fight for every yard when running the ball. Run every route like you are the primary receiver. Wrap each and every tackle on defense. Every one swarms to the football. If their receiver catches the ball, hit them hard enough that they remember it the next time they go out for a pass. Go Birds and remember you have the word Highlands across your chest. It not only means something to a lot of former players and to you, it means a lot.

Exactly. Fortunately moving into the community has allowed me to see that not nearly everyone acts like this. It has made rooting for the Birds not too bad. However, before living in Fort Thomas, I couldn't stand the Birds due to the aboved perceived arrogance.

Any arrogance will fade after 7:30 tonight as it will be a very close slobberknocker between two tough teams. Great h.s. football game in Union and some crow to be eaten afterwards by all of these "easy win", "not close", 50-point b.c. predictions as if Highlands is the only team that will improve drastically from week one to week two. Here's to a great game and I will enjoy watching all of the players from both teams who bust their tails year round to be on the turf tonight!
