Who's the last NKY team to beat HHS in the regular season?

 

A more interesting or at least more difficult question is who was the last NKY team other than CovCath to beat Highlands (on the field) and what year? Tougher still (or at least requiring a longer memory), who was the last NKY team other than CovCath to beat HHS (on the field) before that and what year?

 

With respect to the game it should be a great test for both teams and one of the premier NKY games this year between perhaps the two best teams in NKY. I see Ryle emerging as a slight favorite to win the very tough and competitive NKY 6A district (although at least three other teams can make a good case for their team as well and whoever ends up as the fifth place team in this district has to be the best team in the state not to make the playoffs as it was last last year). If Ryle gets ahead early and can use its strong running game mixed with a few passes to keep the defense honest to grind time off the clock it could be a very interesting game but I believe Highlands shows significant second game improvement again this year like last year and perhaps special special teams play and likely (re)asserts itself in a convincing win in another step on its march (drive?) to another state title and hopefully undefeated season.

 

As others have mentioned, lots of respect to Ryle for scheduling Highlands twice this year (and vice versa) which will help both team prepare for playoff competition. Also, a smart move for Ryle to prepare itself not only for this year's playoffs but also to help prepare its apparently very talented underclassman to make a serious run at a 6A state title next year and the following year in addition to this year.

Heck no he wouldn't. He posted it and left on a train for Washington state. I spoke to Henry, Leatherneck has not been seen for hours, Henry thinks he is out looking for this new overzealous Ryle fan.

 

Pray for the safe return of leatherneck and for the safe escape of the new guy.

It was Dixie in 2002. Before that it was Ryle in 1995. We also lost to Holmes earlier that same year.

This thread is not the same without leatherneck; he is in hiding as much as the Highlands high octane offense was in week one. Might need Clyde to stir the pot a little or have the new be stop smelling those fumes. Destroy is such a harsh word; Cooperstown he is not expressing views from many cake eaters. I would love to put a beat down on Ryle. However it is an up and coming program, and I think might be a very tough task. Their sophmore is a stud and the defense plays well. I know Dale will have the boys attention this week, and I know others state the obvious he is a master motivator and when you have that ability with a team of talent it is nice to have a couple of close games. It should be fun.

Ryle will get completely destroyed. Bluebirds are a much better team.

Ryle is getting better every year , they have a D1 tight end and a very good coaching staff. The winner of this game,no matter who it is, will gain a lot of respect in NKY. I expect nothing less than a great game from two quality programs. In my opinion destoyed is an awfully strong word to use in any high school football prediction. I'm just hoping for a hard fought game,and pray that there are no injuries for either team.

I just got a feeling here and I think Ryle will upset the Birds.

With that being said I do want Highlands to win.

Highlands wins in a closer game than expected. I am going to predict something like 21-14. Will be a good game to watch.

Highlands in a very big way over Ryle. You will see how talented this Birds team is and realize how very good Manual is.

I believe that this is the game that Hempel earns the respect that he deserves. I watched him last year as a Sophomore and was impressed w/ his composure and skills. I look for him to have a break out game. 2 TD tosses.

Anyway, I think the team leaders step up and settle this team down and lead them to a hard fought win.

It really doesn't matter who said it.it still will be used for locker room wall paper.

The Bluebirds' offense typically starts a bit slow at the beginning of the year. They will still be working out some kinks this week as well. I look for Ryle to be able to run a bit on the Birds, but will find it tough to score. The running game will shorten the game with HHS winning 24-7. This will be a hard hitting game. Ryle is tough and physical, but so is Highlands. I believe HHS has a few more play makers.
