It will obviously take a very, very well-played game by Ryle to pull off the upset. Highlands is the obvious favorite because, well, they're Highlands - the best of the best in NKY. But they're not invincible and it can be done. Ryle's offense will score some points, but this will be a supreme test for the young, but good, Ryle defense. They are going to see a different level of speed than they've seen in their games against Dixie and CCH when the D dominated both offenses. Again, it'll take a very special performance for the Raiders, but I'll take them in a bit of a "homer" pick by the score of 27-21.

 

And I'm more than willing to let Leatherneck buy me a burger and a drink. Highlands' money spends very well at Ryle's concession stand.

Ryle needs to do three things above all - 1)Force turnovers 2)Milk the clock but 3) still mix it up by utilizing the passing game when it becomes the smart option. IMO this will be a highlight reel game for either HHS TE Brandon Roller or Ryle TE Tate Nichols, which ever prevails. The short passing game is going to be critical as I think that might be both teams' best chance at punching in points. A very defensive oriented game but if the big plays come, they'll come for Highlands aka Collinsworth and Buten. With that said, I think the Raiders contain the explosiveness of the Bluebirds and walk away with an early season win at home 21 - 17.

Dang, since I didn't get to see last week's game I knew there was a chance they were only going to play Brandon one-way. Thats a chance I took and it bit me in the butt. Welz kid, from what I hear, never seen him play, good but I have alot of faith in Tate.

I think Highlands will put some major points on the board this week. I don't think Ryle will be a pushover but will their passing game be enough of a factor if they get behind by a few scores early?

That's odd--I don't seem to recall that game for some reason. :idunno:

 

 

 

Honestly, my right mind tells me to say Highlands. The pure fact that I'm going to say Ryle wins it in a very close down to the wire game pretty much ensures that Highlands will blow Ryle away so I can eat my words later.

 

In all seriousness, it will take a near perfect game for Ryle, and some imperfect play by Highlands for Ryle to pull this out I think, but I know it can be done. And I'm hoping it happens.
