Ohio Approves Slots at Race tracks

Recommended Posts

Richard Skinner for the Enquirer had an interesting piece in the Enquirer about slots in casinos.

Tired of being the reactionary state and following along with what all the other states are doing and just putting a bandaid on the situation.

His solution, allow sports betting in KY and be the frontrunner with forward thinking rather than just trying to keep up with the Jones.

I'd be absolutely stunned if this happens, given the track record.

How about both? I would love to see KY allow any kind of gambling imaginable.

Thank You Republican leaders for screwing up our state . Open your eyes and see the writing on the walls. David Williams needs to be kicked in the seat of his pants.

I wouldn't limit the blame to only the Republicans. But, yes, David Williams is a curse.

Hearing a crazy rumor that Churchill Downs management is threatening to move the Derby to Arlington Park (which they also own)?? It would be a bold move, but they may be just that frustrated with KY politicians?? That would make me :puke:

That's just scare tactics. The picture is bleak enough without resorting to ridiculous garbage that would never happen. If Pimlico in its incredibly weakened state can continue hosting the Preakness, the Derby ain't going nowhere.

What's more likely is a continued trimming of racing dates outside of the major stakes days.

I can see Wednesday and Thursday racing at Keeneland and Churchill being VERY weak in the future.

I think Churchill even cut out Wednesday racing for good this spring/summer, didn't they?

Just on a few dates. But I wouldn't be surprised to see Wednesdays cut altogether for the fall meet.
