Top 5 wrestlers

Featured Replies

End of season assessment.

1. Jacob Murton

2. Kyle Ruschell

3. Jarius Murton

4. Richard Starks

5. Taylor Sherer

Lets get those opinions rolling... :flame:

Great list but I cannot agree with the order. Last year the murtons came in and impressed the state, this year they were great but not as dominating. Sure they pinned in the finals but they were just not as good as last year.

Mr. Ruschell was tops this year.

Jacob Murton would be 2nd. (Maybe next year-MOW, maybe?!)

Yes i would have to agree Kyle Ruchell is the best wrestler in the state of kentucky and Jacob Murton is 2nd

I was very impressed with Mike Clark....I love the fact that he is only a junior....

My top five - based strictly on how they wrestled at state:

1) Kyle Ruschell

2) Jacob Murton

3) Jarius Murton

4) Tony McDermott

5) Taylor Scherer

HM - Mike Clark, Max Ervin, Travis Sullivan.

I thought 119 was the toughest weight class, followed by heavyweight and 160.

By the way, Travis Sullivan is not the first Wayne County wrestler to pin his way through the 103 pound bracket...who was the other one?

Doug Upchurch in 2001.

As far as the performances at state tourny go, I would rank them:

1. Jacob Murton

1. Kyle Ruschell

3. Jarius Murton

4. Taylor Scherer

5. Travis Sullivan, this one is iffy, because 103 IMHO was a weak weight class this year. But he completely dominated it.

I agree with this one except for Scherer. But i didn't see his early matches just the finals match. He didn't look to sharpe in the finals.

I would list them as follows

1. Kyle Ruschell

2. Jacob Murton

3. Neil Cooper

4. Tony McDermott

5. Max Ervin

These are the ones who impressed me the most in the tourney.

Ruschell dominated everyone no-one even gave him a scare

Jacob Murton was dominant but was shocked by Robert Smith for a second

Neil Cooper dominated everyone and was dominant for most of the finals match

Tony McDermott looked great the whole tourney.

Max Ervin dismantled everyone.

Kyle Ruschell

Jacob Murton

Top two in the state no doubt....these two guys are in a league of their own

Jairus Murton

Neil Cooper

Tayler Sherer

Richard Starks

These four are all extraordinary wrestlers...but i don't believe they're good enough to be put in the same calss as ruschell and jacob murton....my only true beef with including jairus with his brother and kyle is who he has had to wrestle in the last two years....140 last year was relatively weak and i think 145 was the same deal this year(not his fault but just a factor to consider)....i wouldve liked to see see him at 152 with neil...or even at 135 last year with bo hines....

Max Ervin

Tony Mcdermott

I'll include these last two from state performance alone...state is the only chance ive had to see them and both were very impressive but I just havent seen them wrestle enough to be able to include them with the rest

HAVE MERCY!!!
