December 30, 200817 yr I say we go for 700 total pounds lost. 1,000 seems a little much BF.With 36 people involved, we're talking about less than 28 pounds per person. I think it's an attainable goal.
December 30, 200817 yr Will you be using the bands with handles on both ends? Or like the ones you see in physical therapy offices? I have physical therapy bands but I can always go get bands with handles if needed.

December 30, 200817 yr I'd be willing to bet you'll easily save over $100.00 doing this. I probably save atleast $20 a week by not eating out anymore at fast food restaurants. Eating out at applebees two or three nights a week for happy hour will put a dent in your wallet after a while.
December 30, 200817 yr If I lost 30 lbs I'd look like a little kid. People usually guess me about 2 or 3 years younger than I am, and that's with a pretty muscular build. If I dropped that kinda weight I'd look like a hs kid again. Same here. I have a pretty muscular build and dropping 30 lbs would put me right around where I was in high school. (190-195)
December 30, 200817 yr I've lost three pounds since Christmas. I eat a regular lunch and then for Dinner I eat something not as fattening. I had a Grilled Chicken Sandwich last night, and the night before just regular ol' Spaghetti and Sauce. If I can drop about 4/5 pounds a week I'd be happy. My problem is hitting the weight room again. I have no problem going to the gym and playing Basketball. But I have no motivation going to the weight room and lifting after not lifting for 2 years. This is something I'd really like to get back into but I'm afraid I can't. I've got a wrist and shoulder that both need surgery so I'm kind of limited as to what upper body lifting I can do. The shoulder doesn't bother me so much but my wrist kills me. Things like bench, cleans and pull ups are out of the question. Push ups aren't too hard on me. Anyone have any suggestions ?

Ha dieting and cutting stuff out of your diet like that truely does make you a happier person, you look and feel better, with more energy + your wallet has more money in it for other things. What's not to like about that. I could so be a personal trainer still.
December 30, 200817 yr You're crazy! I wanna be like you! You just figuring out I am crazy?...And you really sure about the other??:lol: By the way I will not be joining the BGP Biggest Loser adventure. However, I would like to offer my services as hostess of the show!

December 30, 200817 yr What's wrong with the wrist? Do graps help at all? The wrist is my major problem. Bench press might not be too bad because of the pushing motion. I'm positive I couldn't do cleans or pull ups because of the pulling motion. I fractured my wrist playing football in high school and just played through and it healed wrong. That's part one of the problem. Part two is the same situation but not so much in my wrist, but the bone that runs from my little finger down to my wrist(same hand). That one needs to be re broken and set back in place. The shoulder isn't too much of an issue unless it's a throwing motion. Any type of pulling motion makes the pain in my wrist/hand unbearable though.
December 30, 200817 yr Yea, I'd say get in there and start with low weight. Work at it for a week or so and see how it feels.
December 31, 200817 yr Was thinking about this while I was at the gym, some of you, especially those of you wanting to gain weight. May actually want to measure some things other than your weight. Assuming you're wanting to gain muscle, some common measurements are the neck, chest, and biceps. Just a thought. People wanting to lose weight may want to look at some of the same places and also include the midsection. Some people will at first only gain or lose f5-10 lbs, but could have huge results as far as inches.
