January 2, 200917 yr I wonder what I am wanting so much from the pop if there is no caffeine in it? Doesn't quench your thirst the way water does. Anything that is flavored won't satisfy your bodies' needs, which keeps you wanting more of it. This is why pop is so bad for you, especially Coke and Mountain Dew.
January 2, 200917 yr I have a question and it may be goofy but I am still asking lol. I drink pop, but I don't care if it has caffeine or not. What is the big difference in diet vs non diet? Like is diet caffeine free coke going to make that much of a difference than just caffeine free coke? I'm telling you right now, if you can just drop pop all together you will be much much better off. The stuff in it just really slows you down. Not to mention the fact that it tastes awful.
January 2, 200917 yr I'm telling you right now, if you can just drop pop all together you will be much much better off. The stuff in it just really slows you down. Not to mentio the fact that it tastes awful. Drinking water is the best way to go. It removes all of the harmful wastes from your body.
January 2, 200917 yr Drinking water is the best way to go. It removes all of the harmful wastes from your body. :thumb: I've been a water/ sports drink guy for about 10 years now. I can't imagine how horribly out of shape I would've become had I drank pop for the past ten years. If I go out drinking with the guys and have mixed drinks, I feel like a slug for the next two days.

I actually don't even drink Gatorade or Powerade anymore though because of the sugar that's in it. If I go out and drink, I usually only have a few beers, to avoid that feeling.:thumb:
January 2, 200917 yr Same here. I actually don't even drink Gatorade or Powerade anymore though because of the sugar that's in it. Then I got to thinking, unless i bought them in bulk; that'd be about 8 bucks a week. Not alot, but when I can just refill my water bottle for free.... Well it just seems silly.
January 2, 200917 yr I usually have 4 or 5 too when I drink. I am trying to do flavored water b/c I hate plain water lol. Unless its ice and I will eat that all day. Those flavor packs for the bottled water are the best thing ever. I cant stand plain water either. I go back and forth between flavored water and diet coke or diet dew.

I have a membership with Better Bodies over off Buttermilk and usually just take my own water bottle, rather than stopping at the store or buying one from there for $2.

I dunno why theirs no love for just water. I keep at 32 0z cup at my desk at work, and drink probably 4-5 cups of ice water every day I work. I love it, I could not function(hold on, taking a sipp now, yea that's nice)without my ice water.

Figure it's $30-40 bucks I can waste on some other dumb tendency that I haven't realized is dumb just yet.
January 2, 200917 yr I usually have 4 or 5 too when I drink. I am trying to do flavored water b/c I hate plain water lol. Unless its ice and I will eat that all day. I put a little lemon in mine, lemons are a diuretic also, and that helps. I like my water very cold, so I freeze it, I go into my school and first thing that I do is to put a bottle in the freezer(I'm a Home Ec. teacher) and then my first break in the morning is lunch so by that time, it's ready.

Ice water actually isn't as good for your body as room temp. water. It takes the body much longer to get ice water through your system and for it to get the harmful wastes out of your body than room temp water. I rarely drink water with ice in it anymore. Especially with it being winter, since the faucet water is usually already somewhat cold.

Like is diet caffeine free coke going to make that much of a difference than just caffeine free coke?It makes a HUGE diference! Every time you drink a regular or (just) caffeine-free soft drink, you're getting an extra 150 calories. That make a big dent in your diet at the end of the day.
January 2, 200917 yr I'd suggest drinking juice in place of the pop. V8 makes some really good juices that tastes just as good as pop but less calories.I'd be careful with the juice too. Although it gives you lots of vitamins, it's also high in sugar. I switched to something called Tropicana Light 'N Healthy with Calcium. It's cut with water and has half the calories (50 per 8 oz.) and sugar of regular juice. Yes, you have to get used to it being a little thin; but it's good, and has less calories than even skim milk!
January 2, 200917 yr That's the biggest thing for me. I need to get on a schedule and stick with it. Last time I tried to lose weight I actually did really well and was very determined. So I am hoping I can do that again. I will make a new thread to post weights on Sunday...or you can PM me. I've got the same problem. I go back to school on the 12th so things should get better then. I have to be on a very strict schedule to have any success.
