January 2, 200917 yr Author If it's not too late I'd like to get in. I've been on hiatus for the most part for a few weeks and just now saw the thread. MJ----Just happened on this one, and need to join the party!! Hopefully it's not too late to sign on? Is there a regular weigh-in day? Not really worried about a prize, but the thought of compatriots in the battle is encouraging!! After the snacks today, I was afraid to weigh in. I'd like to join in. The first post said that the first report will be on Jan. 4th (Sun), so I hope you will still put me on the list for weight "loss" (although I am sure that I could win the weight "gain" category if I chose that route!!). Got ya'll. The competition starts on this Sunday, the 4th.
January 2, 200917 yr Author I believe this is the most updated list. Still time to get on. People can join up until Sunday at midnight. And we are going to have bi-weekly weigh-ins on Sunday. So the first weigh-in would be Sunday the 18th. January 2, 200917 yr Author I'd rather go all year, it would benefit all of us more. How about we have two competitions in one? We will have one that last four months and the other that will last the duration of a year. The reason I am hesitant at making it longer, is I am not sure I will have the time to keep track of it longer than May. I applied for a job being a traveling consultant for our fraternity. So, throughout the summer and fall it would be tough for me to completely keep track of it, being that I will not consistantly have access to a computer. But if someone would like to take over after May and keep track of everyone's progress, that would be great.
January 2, 200917 yr Since Thanksgiving, I've been unable to eat on a regularly scheduled basis. As a result I've inadvertently dropped about 13 lbs.
January 2, 200917 yr But if someone would like to take over after May and keep track of everyone's progress, that would be great.I'll back you up. :thumb: That way, if prople want to continue on, they can. How about a 6 month (ending on July 4) and a 1 year competition?
January 2, 200917 yr I have a question and it may be goofy but I am still asking lol. I drink pop, but I don't care if it has caffeine or not. What is the big difference in diet vs non diet? Like is diet caffeine free coke going to make that much of a difference than just caffeine free coke?

Best bet is quit pops altogether, but that's tough. I've been drinking diet caffeine free coke but that doesn't do much good when you like to drink beer as well.

January 2, 200917 yr Yes, lots of calories in just caffeine free coke. Best bet is quit pops altogether, but that's tough. I've been drinking diet caffeine free coke but that doesn't do much good when you like to drink beer as well. I've actually really cut down on beer over the past probably 6 months and if I do drink, it's never more than 4 or 5 beers at a time. Water and juice for me.

I usually have 4 or 5 too when I drink. I am trying to do flavored water b/c I hate plain water lol. Unless its ice and I will eat that all day.
January 2, 200917 yr Yeah I like beer, that's a problem lol. I'd suggest just cutting down on how often you drink. If I drink it's usually only once a week on a Saturday night and I make sure I don't drink too much, but just enough to get a little buzz. I'd suggest drinking juice in place of the pop. V8 makes some really good juices that tastes just as good as pop but less calories.

Unless its ice and I will eat that all day. 4 or 5 is just an appetizer for me though.. :sssh: Flavored water isn't bad. Better than drinking pop all the time. I used to have the same problem and would drink probably 3 or 4 pops a day several years ago. Then once I cut them out completely, I immediately noticed myself losing weight because I worked out so much.
