Very impressive offensive display by Elliott. If Boyd tried to run with them the whole game I don't see any reason for anyone to be upset by the margin. One thing that I don't understand though: If the starters only played the 1st and 3rd quarters as many Elliott supporters have repeatedly pointed out then how did Ferguson score 41 points in 21 minutes. High school quarters are still 8 minutes aren't they? That would mean he played almost 3 quarters. I think the starters deserve more than just 2 quarters in a game but it almost seems like a slap at Boyd by saying that they were beaten that badly with only 2 quarters from the starters.

Once again, pretty sad that a forum can have half of its post discussing whether a player played 2, 3 or 4 quarters of a basketball game. I can remember just loving the thought of getting in the game for 5 minutes.

I didn't mean to imply that Elliott Co. was running up the score. However, if you go back and read many Elliott Co. supporters were quick to point out that "the starters only played the 1st and 3rd quarters", this makes it sound like Elliott Co. was able to beat Boyd Co. by such a large margin with 2 full quarters from only their subs. That obviously wasn't the case--they may have only played as a unit for the 1st and 3rd quarters but they were mixed in throughout the game. :thumb:

Boyd is going to play the run and gun no matter what. Wooten is trying to rebuild and play with what little talent he has. Besides, I always thought it was the defenses job to control the score.

I agree, EC pushes the tempo always, maybe they don't want to slow it down for a number of reasons. Boyd also wanted to push it tonight.

 

I remember a Kentucky game against Kansas. Pitino's game plan was to run and press the whole game, Kentucky did and the final score was Kansas 150 Kentucky 95. Was I upset with Kansas no but I was with Pitino's decision not to slow it down and keep the score reasonable.

Boyd chose to do the same and got simular results:eek:

2. Regarding meeting an equally athletic team with more size in the state tournament last year, they basically won 31 minutes of the game. Just a weird finish prevented them from the W.

3. I wonder how many comments about running up the score, etc. were made in years past when Boyd/Ashland, etc blew out Elliott (yes, what goes around does indeed come around).

4. Good thing Elliott isn't a private school.

I enjoyed watching Elliott county play the other night that I am ready to head to the Beach with them. Which beach are they playing at? Myrtle Beach?

 

Anyone got a exact bedroom I can shack up in? I will have to admit I have a tough time wearing Dark Red though.
