Timmy Knipp was only starter that seen any 4th quarter action and it was right at 1 minute and he was out. Elliott starters mixed in and out in 2nd quarter, none probably playing more than 5 minutes if that. BOyd set the pace and never let off the gas and neither did Elliott. Ferg finished with, I believe 41 points, Elliott as a team shot very well from 3 point land. Boyd fans or coaches seemed to care about the score after it was out of hand. Kind of a NBA all-star game atmosphere on the floor IMO.

With all due respect, Knipp was not in at the end of the game. It was all back up for the entire 4th quarter. Knipp's replacement was waiting at the scores table before the end of the 3rd, but didn't get in until the start of the 4th. At the very end of the game it was all JV, even Cody Nickel and Jacob Ison from the JV were taken out with 1 minute to go in the game. So it was part of the JV starters and part of the bench for the JV when the final horn sounded.

 

It sounds to me like some are confusing Knipp and the other big boy :thumb:

I agree. It looks like they ran it up pretty good in the 1st quarter. A team can only score 132 points if they are running and trying to score as many points as they can. I believe it's a little much. Slow it down. It's obvious who the superior team is, does beating someone by 60 prove anything? Remember, these are kids, why try to humiliate them?

I would also debate that they beat Mason County last year and then snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with some questionable things at late in the 4th quarter.

 

Wireman, I agree. I saw the game last year against MC, and felt that MC came away with a gift. But MC did that a lot last year. But to the point, I did not mean to say that EC could not compete with this style of play, but, just like in the MC game, MC had equal athleticism, but they also had size. That would be an issue that I don't feel EC could overcome against a Scott Co. or Holmes this year. No matter what, I would not want to draw EC in the first round of the Sweet 16 if I have not seen them play first-hand....

Yeah, I know what you meant. That being said, I think Elliott would be right there against any team in the state and is one of the 3-5 teams that have a legitimate chance of winning the state.

Some of you must think Jacob Ison is Timmy Knipp. The players that came out with 1 minute left in the 4th were Jacob Ison and Cody Nickel. The only varsity only players to see action in the 4th quarter were Jared Flannery and Jon Morgan.

I thought Timmy Knipp started 4th but came out shortly thereafter, I kind of felt bad for Morgan and Flannery as they didn't get as much time as I thought they should. A lot of teams would love to have those 2 quality players.

There are no teams in the state of Kentucky this year that can do this type thing to Elliott so that point is moot. Maybe in a year or 2 but not this season.
