First Boyd game I have been able to catch for a long time and first time getting to watch Elliott in the past 2 years and I was impressed.

 

I believe the statements here are way off, the starters played more than the 1st and 3rd Quarters. The starters played till about 3 minutes to go in the Second Quarter in First Half and there was still some starters playing at end of game.

 

With that being said, I have no problem with the starters still playing in the 4th Quarter. Those kids deserve to play and need to stay in full game shape. Especially knowing they have a big tournament coming up.

 

From what I saw Elliott is very solid, but will rely on one players attitude and will to win, when it gets to the State Tournament time. One player seems to feel he is bigger than the game to me. No disrespect to the kid, because he is super talented, but seems a bit lazy and only does enough to get by. Odd to see mixed with the other players, because they were full speed at all time.

 

I was told by the surrounding fans that Boyd played their best game of the season to even get the score that they did. They actually shot a high percentage.

 

Congrats to Elliott, they are for real.

The starters work hard in practice and deserve to play more than two quarters. They need the conditioning for when they play a team that will give them a game at the end. They didnt run the score up tonight.

132 is still a bit much. You can't tell me Elliot's JV is that much better than Boyd's VARSITY if indeed EC only played their starters 1st and 3rd quarters. What was the halftime score? I'm sure EC was up by atleast 30 so why would the starters even play AT ALL the second half?

 

I agree. It looks like they ran it up pretty good in the 1st quarter. A team can only score 132 points if they are running and trying to score as many points as they can. I believe it's a little much. Slow it down. It's obvious who the superior team is, does beating someone by 60 prove anything? Remember, these are kids, why try to humiliate them?

Perhaps the other side that coin would if you're getting hammered, you might try to slow the ball down a little instead of running and gunning against the best fast-paced team in the state.

Elliott County did not run the score up. Boyd kept running and gunning as well.

I always thought it was a rule but I guess maybe it's just a tradition that when Elliott takes the floor after halftime, they always start the same 5 players that started the game.

I would say EC is the best in the sate right now at this style of play. Not that they are the best team in the state, but their style of play resembles a Paul Weshead LMU to me. It won't win against a bigger and just as athletic team (as it has proved in the Sweet 16), but IMO - they do it better than anyone else in the state.
