First Boyd game I have been able to catch for a long time and first time getting to watch Elliott in the past 2 years and I was impressed.

 

I believe the statements here are way off, the starters played more than the 1st and 3rd Quarters. The starters played till about 3 minutes to go in the Second Quarter in First Half and there was still some starters playing at end of game.

 

With that being said, I have no problem with the starters still playing in the 4th Quarter. Those kids deserve to play and need to stay in full game shape. Especially knowing they have a big tournament coming up.

 

From what I saw Elliott is very solid, but will rely on one players attitude and will to win, when it gets to the State Tournament time. One player seems to feel he is bigger than the game to me. No disrespect to the kid, because he is super talented, but seems a bit lazy and only does enough to get by. Odd to see mixed with the other players, because they were full speed at all time.

 

I was told by the surrounding fans that Boyd played their best game of the season to even get the score that they did. They actually shot a high percentage.

 

Congrats to Elliott, they are for real.

 

Elliott absolutely had no starters in at the end of the game and Knipp is the only one who played as much as a minute in the 4th quarter, if it was that much. Boyd set the pace. Elliott played zone for 3 and a half quarters. Boyd shot well and when the talent grows into Wooten's system, they won't be bad.

And people used to accuse JBS of running up the score.

I would say EC is the best in the sate right now at this style of play. Not that they are the best team in the state, but their style of play resembles a Paul Weshead LMU to me. It won't win against a bigger and just as athletic team (as it has proved in the Sweet 16), but IMO - they do it better than anyone else in the state.

 

 

I would also debate that they beat Mason County last year and then snatched defeat from the jaws of victory with some questionable things at late in the 4th quarter.

Anyone who says the score was run up wasn;t at the game. Boyd pressed the whole game and continually shot after one pass. They wanted to run because that is the system WEooten is implementing. You cannot tell your players not to play. Elliott played a zone as I said, and they did not play it aggressively. In fact, I'm sure that the coach was entirely displeased with the defensive effort, especially after the first quarter. It is funny that no one from Boyd is complaining, only the Elliott bashers from elsewhere. The Boyd fans know what their coach tried to do.

Knipp was not in the game at the end. I don't know if you are confused or just trying to add fuel to a fire that should not exist. I suggest you get your facts straight or buy a program so you will know who the players are. Believe me I know who the starters are.

I'm actually disappointed, I was hoping Elliott would at least break 150. :lol:

 

I can't see how anyone is shocked by this considering what Ashland just put up. Elliott did this last year against most of the region and it's going to be even worse this year. They are THAT GOOD and the rest of the region just isn't right now.

 

Elliott's schedule will step up a tad with the game against the team from West Virginia and then they will likely get a dose of reality down in Carolina for their Christmas tournament. Won't diminish the team they have this year and that they have a chance to get to Rupp and make some noise.

I dont believe there was a Boyd Co fan at all upset tonight over the score. Only comments that I heard from any Boyd fans was that Elliott could possibly be better than they are with a little more effort from certain players.

Good win for EC. Elliot and Shelby Valley are in similiar situations. They play in bad Regions and after the holiday tourneys they are going beat a lot of people bad. I would love to see them play in the All A. Again 132 points is impressive.

I might have turned my head for the last minute of the game and Knipp might have walked off the floor, but he was in the game the majority of the Fourth Quarter if not all. Dont make a issue about it, I have no issue about it, he was the same age of the Boyd players in the game.

Does Elliott play any of the top KY teams? It would be nice to see how they do against quality teams.

One constant remains - Elliott is either your most favorite or least favorite team in the state.

I believe this is my first time posting in an Elliott county thread. That being said, I do read most threads on this site.

With all due respect, Knipp was not in at the end of the game. It was all back up for the entire 4th quarter. Knipp's replacement was waiting at the scores table before the end of the 3rd, but didn't get in until the start of the 4th. At the very end of the game it was all JV, even Cody Nickel and Jacob Ison from the JV were taken out with 1 minute to go in the game. So it was part of the JV starters and part of the bench for the JV when the final horn sounded.
