Like I said before, Knipp was in the game at the end. I was there, I watched the game, and last time I checked Knipp started the game.

 

As I said before, I have no problem with the starters playing the whole game, just dont sugarcoat it for the ones that do care.:thumb:

I was not at the game. However, a good friend of mine from Boyd called me and told me that Boyd pushed the tempo all evening and even pressed Elliott. What the heck do you expect? Didn't the new coach at Greenup last season decide his Musketeers were gonna play that style as well and do the very same thing to them, only to have the same score hung on him? I say for those complaining, which it doesn't sound like the Boyd faithful at all, Cry me a river!

 

Elliott will be tested by the #1 ranked team in WV in So.Charleston soon. I think we'll get a good read on where they are then.

 

I say kudos to Coach Wooten. He wasn't afraid to schedule the game. He played it with his style regardless of the outcome. Look at it this way, it won't get any worse than that for his kids this year. I hope he uses it as a solid learning tool.:thumb:

Play 32 minutes regardless of score or callit a win after the first quarter and scrimmage the rest of the way! Quit crying! We all have been on the bad end of these at some point and time with our teams as well as the good end.

The 20 point pre-season beat down GRC took doesn't look so bad now!

I'm with Spindoc on this one. For one thing, I haven't heard anyone from Boyd County complaining about the game at all. They all saw what happened and they have had nothing but nice words about Elliott County. Secondly, Elliott is argueably (according to some) the best in the state at up-tempo, helter-skelter basketball with some of the best guards around. What did everyone think would happen if a young, inexperienced team tried to run and gun with a team like Elliott?

 

I also agree that I'm looking forward to the game againt S.C. coming up to see how Elliott looks against a top-level opponent. Although, I can already predict the posts of the thread (regardless of the outcome):

 

Win

- Well, South Charleston is good, but they aren't close to the top teams in Kentucky...

- The top level in West Virginia high school basketball is nowhere close the top level in Kentucky high school basketball...

- Holmes, Scott County, Bryan Station (fill in the blank) would have beat that team by 20...

- Elliott will get a dose of reality in Myrtle Beach...

- This is a good team but they'll be in trouble if they make it Rupp Arena...

- Maybe they should've played a few tougher games early before they played this team...

- This is what happens when a team beats up on a weak 16th region and then plays a real opponent...

- They'll make the Sweet Sixteen because they play in the worst region in the state, but they won't last long there...

I mean - its a no win situation... But, that's what us Elliott fans and supporters have grown used to in the past couple of seasons. Like I said yesterday, Elliott is either your most favorite or least favorite team in the state. It seems that everyone either loves them or hates them. Oh well... Go Lions!!!

Wireman, I agree with you but differ on one thing. It's not that unusual for Elliott supporters to go over the edge in the other direction either. They vie for the best in the state title, but to say some posters don't go overboard is errant as well. I will say this however, I really enjoy watching them play. I will miss when they've moved on. Of course, most fans of other teams in the 16th won't miss them too bad!:lol:

Elliot doesn't find teams like this often (not many teams around the state do). I see nothing wrong with the Elliot fans enjoying the success.

 

It's hard not to like Elliot in my opinion. A small school that has a chance to really make some noise around the state this year. I love it even if they did just beat the team I follow by 65 points :lol:

A lot of people are not going to take getting beat by Elliot well this year.

 

I knew going into last nights game that Boyd was going to get destroyed. Elliot is simply the better team, nothing wrong with losing to a better team.

 

I personally enjoy watching and following Elliot when I get a chance. It's a great story and how anyone could have a huge issue with their success is beyond me.

That's because they don't play defense like Elliott Co.:lol: These boys are amazing, and the most fun to watch team in the state. I don't blame EC fans for going over the top sometimes they have a special group of kids that come along once in a lifetime in a place like Sandy Hook, and there are alot of people on here that bash EC because of how proud the fans are of their team. I really hope to see Ferg and gang hoisting that big trophy come March on Saturday night in Rupp Arena.
