If many Elliott supporters are agreeing with leaving the starters in (which they weren't left in too long, but that's another issue) than that would indicate that a few Elliott supporters disagree with the decision. So, where are the posts of Elliott supporters that disagree?

I totally disagree with you. I cannot disagree more with your thoughts on this. This is varsity high school basketball - its fair game for 3 quarters. Elliott's coach was very respectful by not playing his top 7 the entire 3 quarters. They could've won by 100 points if they wanted to. Are the players supposed to be benched after 1 quarter because they're too good? They have to get minutes to stay in rhythm and prepare for the team's ultimate goals.

Anytime you have a score like this, it's a direct result of both teams. The ability of one team to score and the inability, of the other team to stop them.

No they weren't!! Absolutely not. Players points has nothing to do with it. I have saw Ferguson score 24 in 7 1/2 min. Should he be sat out the rest of the game just because he can score quickly?? I say NO!! The subs got a little over 1 1/2 quarters and thats a plenty!! You are still beating that dead horse.

That is my opinion, as well. I think they should've gave the 4th quarter to reserves and younger guys and allowed the regular rotation to play the first 3 quarters.

Boyd was just as much to blame for the score as anyone. They pressed the whole game. Even when Elliott put in the subs Boyd kept pressing. Elliott is a good team that did nothing wrong the other night.

You're fine. Another point, I'll address. We all can debate the score but these young men from Elliott County, have committed themselves to being the best possible team they can. Many, if not all of the starters have played in summer games and through the fall, right up till school started. Playing the best competition, they could find. Of course they will be good and over-match some teams.

 

With that said, this score is a result of Elliott County as a whole team, being very good and Boyd County, striving to get their program where the Lions are now. Give Body County time and good things can happen, with the hard work, dedication and desire, the EC crew has.

My question when games turn out like this is - what is the "magic number"? A 40-point win? 50? What is worse - getting beat 132-67, or 70-15? One is a 65-point win; the other is only 55.

 

Sounds like by all accounts that it took two to tango in this game; and that Boyd's game plan was just what the doctor ordered for Elliott.

 

Are there any 16th Region historians out there that can tell us whether or not Elliott was ever on the other end of these type games back in the day?

Who really cares how much they won by? The fact is they won. If it had only been a 20 point game the Elliott haters would have said Elliott only beat a sub par team by 20. Coach Mays gave all his players playing time which was fair. Yes he did leave the starters in for the 1st, 3rd and part of second period. But I think they deserve the playing time just as the players who came off the bench did, and coach Mays gave them all time. And if Elliott fans dont think the Lions ran up the score, what do you expect, its their team. Nobodys fans are going to say their team ran up the score. I know several people from Boyd who had nothing to say about the score. It seems that the only people who have a problem with it are those like the GEEK or whatever his name is who was not at the game and has probally never even seen Elliott play. Get over it, Elliott is going to win games this year by large margins, and they are going to lose a couple of games. Thats part of the game, and it seems like some people can not handle this game. Perhaps its too overwelming for them, I dont know. This is beating a dead horse and I was not even going to comment on this but seeing how tore up GEEK is getting over the score finally made me want to respond.
