You're the one making the comment that in most games like this "starters would be out 2-4 minutes in the 3rd qtr. and wouldn't return". I don't believe you ever played in very many organized sports or you wouldn't think this.

You over stepped a little on some of your comment and I'll just leave those alone .......You are right though about its up to the coach as to when he pulls his players back.

 

But, many of EC supporters are agreeing with his actions to leave starters in the game after the game it self has gotten out of hand.

 

You have players on EC's bench that practice hard all year and deserve to get in the game a little more. Anyways, I am sorry for trying to stick up for some of Elliott Co. less known ball players.

 

By the way, its that kind of thinking that actually makes you a good coach. Not beating a teams by 40 to 50 points just because you can.

I definately knew you wouldn't call anyone. You are right, it's not your program and kid's so why not leave the dead horse alone. Oh! what about the trying to get the thread closed? You didn't make a response to that.

Yes, Elliott is a better team this season than Boyd County.

This thread, needs to get back to the game itself.

The score wasn't ran up. IT WASN"T. Almost all of the subs played around 12-13 minutes. Thats almost half the game. It would not be fair to the starters who have been there longer and put in more time to play them less than half the game regardless of the score. It is a cycle you know. The kids sitting most now will be the ones getting all the playing time in a couple years and GUESS WHAT? someone else will be filling up the bench. It has been like this for ages. YOU sure you played??

Boyd has a coach that is trying to install his program in a down year for Boyd. He tried it against the best team in the region and IMO a top 5 team in the state. It didn't work. Mays played his starters as few a minutes as I've seen him, and Boyd still pressed and ran. Result, a thumping. Zornes had some really good teams in the late 80s early 90s and he did the same. Hence, the opponents got thumped.
